Alistair walked in carrying a dominos pizza and Tesco carrier bag of snacks, he was grinning from ear to ear. "Ready to have some fun?"
I was bent over my desk looking at some research so only murmured "yeah, hi." Gathering the papers together I stuffed them into the top drawer of the desk. I could feel his eyes on me but didn't show it as I moved some files across the desk. He walked inside placing the pizza on the empty side of my desk and went to close the door. I watched him closely as he came back over to me and peered at the files on the desk.
"Everything okay?" He asked as I didn't move away from the desk. I didn't speak so he added "if something is wrong you can tell me."
Letting out a sigh I asked "how well do you know Puck? Like what do you know about him and his time with Shakespeare?" My hand hesitated over the drawer handle.
"If you are referring to what Puck was warning the director about today, I spoke to him too. He's told me before. What exactly do you want to know?"  Slipping his hand in mine he squeezed comfortingly giving me a soft look.
"Is it true dad? Are they going to try to use me, if they get me?" I pulled open the drawer taking out a red leather journal "I found this in the archives in the basement. There's an entry about a girl, her alpha killed her." The journal was shaking in my hand.
Alistair took the journal putting it down on the desk, "I promise no matter what has happened to others in the past I will not let it happen to you. As far as we know there's only one more chance to use you. Please don't worry about this, there is so many of us that want to keep you safe." Quickly I wrapped my arms round him and buried my head into his chest like how I used to as a small child. He held me for a few moments before speaking cheerfully "come on the pizza is getting cold."
I looked up at him "I have to tell Daniel, so can you talk to him about what you know. How it'll happen, what to do if...?" I stopped myself "I think the pack should know exactly what's going on. I don't want anyone to be kept in the dark."
"Okay" was all he responded with.
"Okay" I repeated back at him before changing the subject, "let's eat and chill."
