"Are you sure you're okay with this?" Courtney asked once again while walking across the driveway. Daniel had hold of their little boy while I had the baby girl cradled in one arm.
"Of course go have fun," I reassured Courtney.
"Come on sweetheart," Callum gently pulled her arm towards their car. "I'm sure the alpha," he winked at me "can handle this."
"Yeah we've got this," holding up a notepad I smiled "it's all in here."
Eventually Callum convinced Courtney to get in the car and they were off on their romantic evening. It was just Daniel, I and the two little ones. The boy, Michael suddenly said "mummy let's me have ice cream before bed."
I turned round and grinned "oh no she doesn't, I've read the book" I said holding the notepad up. "But a little bit of popcorn while watching a movie is okay."
He yelled "yay!" Excitedly as we walked back inside.
"Why don't you two go sort that and pick an appropriate movie," I winked at Daniel "while I feed this one and put her down."
"Don't be too long or you'll probably not get any popcorn," Daniel teased.
"Uh yeah right. Oh and only give him a little bowl of it, not one of the huge bowls" the pair grinned widely heading for the kitchen as I looked down at the baby girl snuggled in my arm. "You'll behave for me won't you?" She gurgled smiling a little, although I was pretty sure that was gas. I followed the boys into the kitchen to heat up a bottle of milk for her finding Daniel and Michael holding mixing bowls as Daniel put a bag of popcorn in the microwave.
"I've put the kettle on for the bottle," Daniel said just as the water began to grumble. Standing nearby I rocked baby Alice watching the two boys. "I've got it you go sit," he smiled brushing past me. He whispered "you look so natural, beautiful." Heating the bottle for Alice in boiling water and testing it he handed the bottle to me.
"Thank you, you two start the movie." I walked out of the kitchen and up to Daniel's room where there was a cot set up at the end of the bed. Sitting on Daniel's big soft battered old armchair, draped in a big fluffy blanket I began to feed Alice her bottle. I had to admit I quiet liked the idea of having a baby, or two. It would be a while before any of that though.
