Speed walking back to my room I dialled Daniel's number on my mobile. Tapping my foot waiting for him to pick up. "Hello?" He said upon picking up.
"Hey it's me," I replied.
"Hey is everything okay?" He asked with concern in his voice.
"Um can you do something for me?" I perched on my desk knocking a pile of files to the floor.
"Yeah sure anything."
"Can you find me all the books we have dated around the fire of London and books on the origin of werewolves? I know it sounds weird...."
"It does but I can sort that for you, is there something you're looking for?" He asked the concern audible.
"Yeah but can we talk about it when I get home tomorrow?" I noticed I was gripping my leg, digging my nails in. "Please don't worry about it, I'll explain tomorrow."
"Okay just remember I'm here to listen anytime," he sighed a sigh of frustration.
"I'm sorry," I mumbled.
"Hey don't be sorry, whatever it is we can deal with it together." For a moment there was silence between us, "did you ask him?"
"Yeah, we're gonna hang tonight. Again I'm sorry I've called every night." Standing up I walked over to my sofa and slumped down.
"No way are you saying sorry for Goodnight chats, it's been nice. Plus you are so cute when he fall asleep on FaceTime, especially mid sentence." If he could see me now he'd see me blushing. "I can't wait to pick you up tomorrow, I miss you more than ever these days."
"Yeah can you imagine what it'll be like when you mark me," I covered my mouth having not really thought about that at all. My hand then drifted to the scar of Harry's old mark, that now polluted my neck.
"It's okay, whenever you're ready. Please don't over think it," he quickly said trying to sooth me.
As he did I realised I'd started crying and worse the mark was starting to burn. "It's hurting a little, like it's trying to make me think I still belong to him even though..."
"You belong to no one," his strong sure voice settled me back to reality.
"I'm okay," the burning stopped. "Maybe when you do mark me this stupid thing won't bother me anymore," I tried to laugh it off a little but I now felt deflated.
"Call me later when you and Alistair are finished....or I can come over?" He questioned.
"I'll call later, thank you" I smiled wishing his arms were round me.
"Trust me it's going to be hard to hold back when I pick you up," he chuckled down the phone and we eased into a more relaxed conversation before both needing to get on with various things. I nearly was tempted to ask him to come over but thought it would be too late by the time Alistair and I finished hanging out.
