Despite the warmth inside the cave, she still felt chills running across her body, accompanied by a sinking feeling in her stomach.
The cavern connected to others, that connected to even more in turn. The entire system went deeper than she could probably imagine, and yet she still knew that somewhere in the bowels of these rocky hallways there resided something (or someone) incredibly foul.
Thankfully, she hadn't been hired to slay it, whatever it was. But she had been hired to retrieve an ancient amulet that was lost somewhere deep beneath the earth, and some foreboding feeling told her the vile being might have laid its hands (or claws) on it.
