Everyone knew that he didn't like surprises. But not everyone, sadly, seemed to take that seriously.
Still, he tried to suppress the disappointment as people jumped from behind couches and yelled happy birthdays at him.
Normal people liked this kind of thing, didn't they? So why couldn't he?
Somehow he managed to go along with it. It sure seemed like people bought it, leaving with satisfied smiles on their faces, clearly thinking they had made his day.
Good. If he had managed to learn how to pretend so well amongst humans, his fellow aliens would be able to as well.
