Ever since she had been little, she had felt a deep yearning inside of her. It took her a few years to figure out that it was intricately linked to her magic, and was simply a deep desire to cast as often as she could.
Still, she knew all too well that using your magic too often and for too trivial things could be very harmful in the end, and so she tried to keep her impulses in check.
In the end, it made the rush she got from draining her victims of their life's essence all the better, as she couldn't experience it nearly often enough.
