Maybe she had always known that she would burn in hell in the end. But she surely had hoped to evade this fate anyway.
In a way, it was good for her to get her comeuppance. It alleviated her guilt, so she supposed it was almost selfish for her to be happy with her fate. If she was being punished, that removed the need for her to do it herself.
And honestly, she didn't know if she ever could have done that. She was a murderer, although indirectly so, and it was this convoluted responsibility that was the tricky part.
Maybe it would become clearer to her after a while. She had an eternity to think about it, after all.
