Clutching the ancient book to his chest, the wizard started running, his feet pounding on the weathered stones of the temple. He had not meant to take it, but the invaluable knowledge contained within its pages seemed to call out to him. And within the second it took for him to pick it up, he learned what true regret felt like.
Now, he was being chased by monsters shaped out of darkness as well as light, but with teeth sharp like daggers regardless.
As he vaulted over a fallen pillar, he considered it time to rethink his life choices.
