All she could remember was being dragged underwater, and running out of breath. Then, everything just had been darkness.
Now, as her eyes fluttered open, the feeling of drowning rushed back to her for a long moment, as she realized that she was still underwater. Weirdly enough, she found that there was nothing to worry about, as she could apparently breathe underwater now. She was fairly certain she did not have that ability before.
As she started to calm down, she finally took the chance to properly look around, and what she saw was astonishing.
An entire city built out of seashells, inhabited by whole crowds of mermaids and mermen.
