She'd like to say that vampires sleeping in coffins was a myth, just a silly stereotype that some writer came up with from the comfort of his study. She'd like to, but she couldn't. Sunlight was still very much lethal for a vampire like herself, and for some weird, supernatural reason sleeping in a coffin during the day added some bonus protection.
During her life, she had done everything in her power to stay alive as long as she could, and now that had merely shifted a bit, to wanting to stay... well, undead.
And the coffin sadly came with that deal.
