Even though much was permitted within the witching community, there were certain boundaries many felt were not OK to cross.
Forcing a form of "love" through magic was one of those things. It therefor didn't take long for the love witch to be rejected from the community altogether. Not that she particularly cared, as she could now perform her illicit business with a lot less scrutiny.
And with mortals' dubious motives... Let's just say that she was unlikely to be out of business any time soon.
As the requests for making unrequited love less so became more monotonous, it was more a matter of the love witch herself abandoning the field completely.
