Hunger. Greed. Destruction.
He was consumed by them, his mind overtaken, no, corrupted by them until there was no space left to worry about anything else.
Although memories were hard to grasp in this state, he knew for certain he hadn't always been this way. He didn't know what had caused this change, but he knew when it happened. One month ago, a fire had started to consume him from within, or so it felt, at least.
By now, it had consumed him whole, and the only way he could get release from the resulting emptiness within, was to watch other things burn too.
As he watched the forest before him turn to ash and embers, a single tear welled up in his eye.
He did not truly want this... yet at the same time, he wanted to destroy so much more.
A/N: This prompt was a tricky one for me, as my knowledge of the wendigo is rather... basic, to say the least. So take this one more as a story inspired by the folklore around the wendigo rather than explicitly as a wendigo story.
