See no evil. Hear no evil. Speak no evil.
While many people found the same meaning in these words, she was raised with another. As the daughter of an organized crime boss, the words came to signify a very simple message: keep your mouth shut about all you see, and all you hear.
And for years she had indeed lived by that message, as she knew the fate that awaited her if she didn't.
Now though, now she had had enough. By some miracle (or curse, she did not know), she had grown up to develop a moral compass, even in this grim environment. This moral compass could not take the amount of death and crime she was faced with on the regular.
So she spoke of the evil that she had witnessed. She would speak as long as she had not been silenced by those she used to call family.
