Staring down at his cupped hands, he felt his thoughts growing stiller and stiller. This gem he was holding... It looked so breakable. Right there and then, he decided that he needed to protect it, defend it at all costs, even with his life, if he had to. Not that he wanted to, no, he wanted to spend the rest of his life admiring this beautiful, precious gem.
As he hurried his way back out through the complicated system of caves and hallways carved out of ancient rock, only the faintest of whispers could be heard.
"That's right, little human. Take me above ground again. I'll show you just what we can do together."
