Once you were able to look past all the smoke, the clockwork lands were truly a sight to behold. There was never a silent moment, always some gears whirring and machines buzzing in the background. The precious metals used for the machinery would glint in an array of colors with even the faintest of light reflecting of its surface.
There was only one person behind this all, the great inventor referred to as the clockwork goddess. She was not truly a goddess, mind you, as she was regularly reminded of the fact that she was a mere mortal, and one of a high age at that.
It was not for a lack of trying that she hadn't been able to reach true divine status, as these clockwork lands could attest to. But as she learned, there was only so much power a machine could provide you with.
