calum
single soccerdad!cal being coach of his lil girl's soccer team but michael's lil boy, ashton's daughter and luke's lil girl are also all on the same team and way before the season even started, lil boy cliffo asked your son to join their team because they're all friends so your son begged you to let him play and so you signed him up because it'd be good for him and lil girl hood would be pretty familiar with you because she's friends with your son and she's seen you at the school and you say hi to her so sometimes before training or a game, she'd come up to you and ask you to braid her hair because her daddy always has trouble with it, but your son would automatically take a liking to calum because he's naturally just so good with children and they all love that he brings duke to practice sometimes and your son would be always talking about coach!cal and how much he asks about you bc you two have spoken a few times and sometimes you see him in the supermarket when he's buying snacks for the team and he makes the effort to strike up conversation about how great your son is and how much he's improved but he also compliments you too and on the saturdays they play, either luke, michael or ashton come over and make subtle hints to you about calum bc they're all aware of how fond he is of you and you always get a little flustered bc the more you talk with cal, the more you seem to like him and so after the game, he heads over to you and your son, praising him bc he scored three goals as well as the winning one and your son would mention something about wanting to hang out with lil girl hood and so calum would just randomly suggest (but not so randomly because he'd been conjuring this plan for quite some time now) they all go out for pizza and your son and would be beaming and lil girl hood would be clinging to your leg because she knows what her daddy's up to and you'd agree because you were pretty hungry yourself but also because you had a feeling he meant it as kinda like a date as wellluke
"daddy! daddy, the puppy is in the window again!" you smiled to yourself as you heard the excited voice of your little neighbor outside of your apartment. ever since the little boy and his single father moved into the apartment across from yours, they had always paused to say hello to your 1-year-old puppy, who liked to stare outside your front window, looking for people to greet. "i see that, pumpkin. want to say hi?" came the deep rumbling voice of the boy's father. you could practically hear him smiling, and warmth bloomed in your chest. you'd never met with your neighbors face to face, but you'd seen them from afar enough to know that the two of them made an adorable pair. you listened as they cooed over your puppy for a little longer, then came to a sudden decision. in a few strides, you reached the front door and flung it open. as you laid eyes on your startled neighbors, you quickly feigned an expression of surprise. "oh! hello." the boy's father straightened up, his tan skin flushed red with embarrassment. it was a good look for him, you decided. "i'm so sorry," he stuttered, shoving his hands in his pockets, "max and i just wanted to say hi to your puppy. we didn't know anyone was home." the little boy, whose name you now knew was max, poked his head out from behind his father's legs. "he's a very cute puppy, you know," he said matter-of-factly. you grinned, crouching down so that you were looking him in the eyes. "i know. would you like to meet him?" you looked back up at his father, who had a soft smile on his face that almost took your breath away. "i mean, if that's all right with you." max clutched at his father's jeans, giving him the widest, most adorable puppy eyes you'd ever seen. "daddy, please? please please please?" the boy's father smiled, holding out a hand to you. you gratefully took it, and he pulled you to your feet in one smooth motion. "i think we can stay for a few more minutes." max squealed, hugging her father fiercely before grabbing your hand and practically dragging you into your own apartment. what was supposed to be a few minutes soon turned into a few hours, and you eventually found yourself lying on the couch, a disney movie playing on the tv, max curled up on the rug with the puppy, her father (luke, you learned his name was) stretched out next to you. "we should probably get going," he murmured, smiling at you sleepily. you reached out, carding your fingers through his curly blonde hair before cupping his cheek in your hand. "stay," you whispered just as sleepily. "please? just a few more minutes." luke grinned softly. "okay. just a few more minutes."ashton
imagine you noticing that ashton has been bringing his daughter into the studio alot more lately so one morning as you're working at your receptionist station and she's sitting in the booth area with her crayons and apple juice, you strike up a conversation asking if she's interested in what her daddy does for work and without looking up from her coloring page she says "not really, i like coloring more" and you laugh and ask why she's been coming to the studio then and she explains to the best of her knowledge (since she is only 6) that the sitter that usually watches her doesn't come anymore which seems to make her daddy upset because he has so much to do and no one to help him which makes you upset too because you know how hard the boys work, especially how much ashton does for the band as well as his little girl so that day when the boys are leaving, ashton comes out of the recording booth to find you taking a break to color with his daughter and when he tells her it's time to go she pouts and says that she wants to stay to finish her unicorn drawing with you so you promise to help her finish the picture tomorrow and as she's cleaning up her things, ashton thanks you for keeping her company and you say it's no problem because she's an angel and his eyes linger on you as they leave through the glass doors and on the next day, you help lil girl irwin finish her unicorn just like you told her and as you're coloring she lets it spill that her daddy was asking all kinds of questions about you last night because he's actually had a crush on the cute receptionist for a while and you blush and spend the rest of the day trying to work up the courage to make a move when the boys left the studio later that eveningmichael
michael didn't mind being a single parent because his little boy was his absolute world, but he had to admit it was hard especially around the holidays. his kid deserved the world but michael had only just started getting paid at the tattoo shop, leaving him with very limit funds to spend this Christmas. "hey bud, come here for a second," he said. "so christmas is coming up." "i know, daddy! the tv keeps playing that santa clause movie where he falls off the roof," he rambled. "oh yeah? speaking of santa, he has a lot of kids to bring presents to so he only brings them a few things each. have you though about what you're going to ask santa for in your letter this year?" "i just want a barbie doll house this year with the pretty fairy doll that's in that one movie we watch all the time!" "well then, let's write him a letter! go get your crayons and i'll get the paper." "okay!" he shouted, taking off in the direction of his room. michael helped him write the letter that night, promising that he'd take it to the post office first thing the next morning after he got dropped off at school. instead, he tucked the letter into his pocket and headed off towards the nearest toys r us. only, he hadn't realized how expensive those barbie houses were and even though he had been saving up, there was just no way he could afford the house and the doll and still feed them for the next two weeks. he sighed, deciding that the house was more important than the fairy before heading to the registers. "awe i remember when i had one of these," you chuckled, scanning the item. "someone is going to be super excited this christmas." "i hope so, it's for my son," michael said, glancing at the price displayed on the screen. "no barbies to live in the house?" you asked. this got michael to stop, "doesn't it come with one?" "i wish, but unfortunately it only comes with a few accessories. no dolls." "oh." "did you want to go back and look for a doll? i can hold the item here for you," you smiled. "uh I really can't afford anything else," he coughed, uncomfortable with the fact that he was probably getting judged by the cute cashier. "oh," you mumbled, realizing the mistake you had just made. maybe it was the sad expression on the boy's face or the fact that the sunlight was hitting his green eyes just right that made you follow the tall red haired boy back to the barbie aisle with the promise of using your employee discount — and maybe a little bit of your paycheck — to pay for them. "you really don't have to do this," michael said, as he watched you type in your employee number before shelling out $40 of your own to pay for the three dolls he had found. "don't worry about it. i'm sure you're little boy will enjoy those way more than my mom will enjoy another holiday scented candle," you shrugged, before wishing him a merry christmas and watching him walk out of the store with a barbie house and three dolls. you figured that would be the last time you'd ever see the red haired boy but thankfully you were wrong. it was during your shift a few weeks later that you catch sight of the familiar boy, only this time he was carrying a mini version of himself into the store. you watched as he set the boy down, taking his hand as he dragged him into an aisle. ten minutes later, the pair appeared at your register a few barbie clothes on the conveyer belt along with a blue candle. "i felt bad that you didn't get your mom something for christmas so hopefully she likes this weird candle," michael said, his cheeks turning red. "daddy, your face matches your hair," his son giggled. "i think my daddy likes you. you look like the pretty barbie santa brought me!"
