'Hello, Lizzy!' Claire greeted her when she answered the back door.

'Hello, can I come to the leavers party?' Lizzy asked.

'Of course! Of course! Is your mum coming too?'

'She has to run some errands. So I'm hoping to tag along.'

Claire was delighted. 'Of course! Come inside and sit in the living room. I'll give you a glass of orange juice while you wait. Joel's still preparing.'

Lizzy passed the hallway. She knew the living room well enough. Comfortable, she was, she sat on a modern grey sofa and turned on the TV like it was her own. She changed the channel to her favourite cartoon.

'Little Joe! Lizzy's here!' shouted Claire. The woman entered the living room carrying a crisps and orange juice tray.

'Mum! Don't call me Little Joe anymore! I'm not a little kid!' Joel shouted from upstairs.

Claire chortled and put the tray down on the coffee table. 'Here you go, love! What are you watching? How interesting.'

'Lady cheesecake and strawberry Minions,' Lizzy said chirpily.

'Adorable,' the woman said. 'Oh, what errands is your mum doing today?'

'Just errands, she says. I don't actually know.' Lizzy proceeded to reach out to grab the orange juice. But the glass moved away from her hand and fell. It smashed, scattering the shards. Orange juice spilt everywhere.

'Oh no! Wait here and don't move,' Claire said.

'I'm sorry-- I--'

'It's okay, love,' spoke the woman.

Claire passed by her son who was standing by the archway wearing a buttoned-up shirt, khaki-coloured trousers, and leather shoes. His blond short hair was combed neatly.

'What's all this?' Joel asked, looking at the mess.

'It was an accident!' she said. Then she whispered, 'You won't believe me what I just did...'

'Why are you whispering?' he asked. 'I can't hear you, ' He wanted to come over.

'Wait! I think there are shards on the floor!' Lizzy shouted.

Joel stopped midtrack. He looked around. 'The party hasn't started yet, Lizzy.'

'It was an accident, okay. Joel, you wouldn't believe it if I told you, the glass move itself!'

Joel eyed her suspiciously.

'Joel,' spoke Claire, reappearing into the room. 'Excuse me-- OW... ow... owww... ow...'

Claire groaned, holding up her right foot. She lifted it and saw a shard of glass pierce her sole skin. She took it out and put it in the dustpan.

Lizzy cringed, looking at it, remembering her accident once.

'Don't move you two,' she said as she started sweeping the floors to get rid of the shards. She put the broken glass in the pan and wiped the spilt juice with a cloth. 'Joel. Be a dear and get me a medical plaster, will you? Oh, and my sandals!' Claire said.

Joel went to get them. Soon enough the three of them were ready. They were off to school.

Lively party in the school's gym. There was a giant trampoline and face art corners. Foods and drinks by the sides of the room. Dance floor, DJ, and clowns.

'I will miss you all! It won't be the same!' Lizzy said and hugged the boys one by one.

'Don't worry, Lizzy, we won't go far!' said Bobby. 'We can hang out still.'
