With magic and magical beings existing together, Hallowe'en was a respective celebration. It was a day that wizards and witches really give their respects to past wizards and witches of old. They put down flowers outside their homes and places to be, or on their loved one's graves. A respect that was kept like so, and Hogwarts would hold an annual feast dinner to commemorate the holy occasion.

Yet these celebration had been tweaked since the muggles started a new trend. And it might have been introduced by past Muggleborns as it was an annual tradition as well, exclusively, for the kids. A quite hourly entertainment.

As right after the feast ceremony, a hallows' speech by Dumbledore, and a solemn choir performance by the choir club, the school allowed the third years and up, to go to Hogsmeade Village.

Ghosts played the part, flying around and spooked the kids in every opportunity of turning corners. Nearly Headless Nick would roam around and dropped his nearly chopped off head to freak the living life out of others. Hogsmeade villagers welcomed them all into their lively evening festival.

Candle lights floated above the villager's houses. Games held on streets for the kids and villagers alike. Music played by a group of curious nomads who were staying near the village for awhile. Pubs and cafés were open for all.

Joel and Sue stood in the middle of a crowded street. It was their first date and they had no idea what to do with each other. Joel felt guilty, knowing that he was lying, for wanting to go out with her.

'Our friends are in the Three Broomsticks, right now,' Sue said in delight. 'But maybe we can walk around together before then?'

'Sure,' Joel said.

They saw several games to see. Head dunking apples, where people try to catch apples on a bucket of water using their mouth. Pandora box surprise, where people put their hands in and tried to guest whatever was inside. Tongue twisters, where they try to tie a knot on a long string in their mouths.

They stopped in front of Honeydukes. It was open with 50% discount on all sweets.

'Look! Let's buy some! Maybe they have sherbets for sale!' Sue said, being her favourite sweet was sherbet since it was Joel's first gift for her. She was beaming as she entered the shop, followed by her first boyfriend, who was dying inside in every step of the way.

They bought some sweets and ate it along the way, before heading to the Three Broomsticks to meet their friends.

'Oh my god! My dearest love!' spoke Isobel, sloshing a pint of butterbeer in her hand. 'Look at you both! You look so so so good together!'

Everyone teased Joel and Sue as they were a new couple. And Sue blushed hard by this whole flattery and teases, while Joel stood a bit behind, trying to fit into the scenario.

The only one who didn't buy Joel's acting was Terry. Terry knew the truth, and he was judging silently at Joel. Judging him hard. Joel settled next to him, while Sue was busy fussing about with her friends. Terry whispered, 'You know you're an idiot, right?'

'Right now... I'm convinced I am, Terry...' Joel said quietly.

All third years of the three houses, without Slytherin, gathered around in one group. Free butterbeers was the pub's feature for this evening festival. Everyone had one on their hands, drinking merrily, bantering with mates, and laughing for any good or bad jokes. They all played a drinking game called fuzzy duck. They all sat encircling a table.

It started by someone saying "fuzzy duck" and it continued to people next to them to their left. It kept going until someone decided to say "does he?" and the direction changed to the right and spoke "ducky fuzz". When someone spoke "does he?" again, the word would change back to "fuzzy duck" and it went to the left. Those who hesitated or spoke incorrectly, must drink. When someone lost and had drank, the person next to them continued where it left off.

Someone from the seventh year bought the group, two bottles of firewhiskey for the game. Lots of the lot were excited to taste their first hard liquor. They played and banter until it was time to go. Sadly, curfew existed. Prefects wore their uniforms and herded kids back to the castle when it was closing into midnight.

Joel helped a drunken Sue walk back to the castle. Sue was giggling and hiccoughing, talking about all the silly things that happened, leaning on Joel for support. Joel was a bit tipsy as well, hoping he and Sue would get back into the castle without toppling over. It was a miracle, Joel didn't call Sue by another name, as at the moment, it was the only thing that was stuck in his mind.
