She looked at herself in the bathroom's mirror. Nothing about her right now, exuded confidence. 'I can't show myself,' she said.
'You have to, you don't want to mess with Snape, today,' Sandra said, tying up her hair.
'I've embarassed myself, San! I threw a goblet of pumpkin juice! In front of everyone! At Toby!'
'No one will remember you.'
'They will!'
'So what? You're not doing so bad of a deal, you were upset about something, nothing's wrong with that.'
'I got acting beserk, San, like a maniac. I... I... Toby, oh god...' She grabbed Sandra's uniform and shook her profusedly. 'I threw it on Toby. He'll hate me and people will make fun of me.'
'Relax... nothing's going to make fun of you. If I'm wrong, then I'll hex them into oblivion, definitely! Don't worry. And about Toby, he's an idiot, don't mind him.'
Lizzy took a deep breath and let go of Sandra. 'Okay... but... but stay with me. Like all the time.'
'Sure. Easy.' She and Sandra walked down the spiral staircase to the common room.
'Lizzy!' called Carl.
Carl and Markus went over to her in big smiles.
'You alright now, right?' Markus asked, crossing his arms.
Lips quirked up, feeling glad that she was around her closest mates. 'Yeah... sorry about yesterday.'
They got to the Great Hall for breakfast. She felt half embarassed and glad that most people who noticed her didn't bother at all. And when some had cared enough, they asked if she was doing alright. She could do with this attention. And some others who teased her, had got a real backlash from Sandra, Markus, and Carl altogether.
They made it to their table. 'Hey, Liz.'
Lizzy was halfway sitting down when she glanced at Toby. 'Hey, Toby. I'm sorry about the juice---'
'No, no, I'm sorry. You're doing alright?'
'Of course!' Lizzy said and smiled widely.
'Can I sit with you?' Toby asked nervously.
Lizzy nodded. A shower of relief washed over the ravenclaw boy, sitting down beside her, nudging her shoulder before grabbing a piece of pancake.
Markus and Carl banter got the group laughing before readying for class. Lizzy got out of her seat and headed for the door, but someone called her name. She looked. Her old best friend, Joel.
The Ravenclaw third year had all concern in his face. 'Hey... how are you doing?' he asked. 'I hear about it from Sandra.'
'I'm okay now, I should have told you. I'm doing fine, don't worry.'
'Alright. Let me know if I can help with anything, alright?'
'Sure!'
Toby slung an arm around Lizzy, pulling her close. 'She'll be alright, Joel Lisbon,' he said a bit too defensively, taking her along.
'See you around Joel,' she said, trying to look back, while being ushered away.
'Yeah...' Joel said quietly, annoyed at Toby. He went back to his table, to finish up his plate, but he met eyes with Mandy and Isobel glaring at him, while they were sitting beside an angry-looking Sue.
