He stood in front of a mirror by the sink and slipped his hands in his uniform pockets, posing to see if he looked good in different angles. He was getting taller, no doubt. If he stood next to mum, he would be about at the height of her face.
He also felt a bit ticklish on his chin and jaw fkr days. His friends said that meant a beard was about to sprout. He hoped so, like Terry. Terry started a few weeks ago. He wanted one, and he would start shaving like him.
As his hand rested in a pocket, a wrapper crunched. He pulled it out to find a strawberry sherbet. He forgot. He wanted to give it to Lizzy. He fiddled it in his fingers, realizing that he hadn't talked to her for awhile.
Excluding busy school life, Lizzy had been hanging out more with her hufflepuff friends. And sometimes Joel would see Toby Turner, joining Lizzy's group in the Great Hall, having breakfast, lunch, and dinner together. Toby's looked like a replacement and it didn't sit well with him. God, he hated thinking of them hanging out together.
He had to find a way to give this sherbet. He had to give it in private. He got out of the bathroom, seeing Anthony was the first one go to breakfast.
Andika and Michael had just awakened, lazying around on their beds. Terry was still asleep.
Joel sighed. He pulled Terry's pillow and slammed it on his head. 'Wake up, Terry, wake up!'
Terry groaned. 'Five more minutes.'
Joel rolled his eyes. There was only one way to make him wake up, just for today. 'Quidditch practice. This afternoon.'
Terry opened his eyes. Groggily, he sat up, scratching his eyes and yawned.
'See ya lot at breakfast,' said Joel, walking out of the room. As he made it downstairs to the common room, Sue and Isobel were there at the same time he entered. He had this impression of the two: Sue was nice if only Isobel was gone.
'Joel!' Sue greeted, smiling widely.
'H-hi.'
'Great... let's all go together...' Isobel said.

Lizzy finished brushing her hair in front of the sink's mirror. Her brown hair had gotten longer. She wondered. Should she trim it? Or if she was bold enough, should she cut it extremely short?
'Do you think I'll look good with short hair?' Lizzy asked to Sandra, who had just finished showering.
'Short-short or very short?' asked Sandra. She went to the hangers where she had placed her robe.
'What about a bob cut?'
'Uh... if you ask me, no. But it's your hair, you can do whatever you want.'
She stared at the mirror and wondered. She pulled up the hair up and dangled it at a shorter length. She imagined it to be that short. 'Maybe not,' she said and dropped her hair, tidying it back.
'I don't know, maybe you'll look good? But I can't guarantee it. If you want to try, I say go for it.'
Lizzy laughed hearing that. 'Sandy! What if I really do it?'
'Then you've done it!' she said and took Lizzy's brush to do her black hair.
Lizzy stared at the mirror again. 'I wish I'm as pretty as Yvon--'
'Shut it, shut it, she'll hear! You don't actually want to inflate more of her ego! She has a ton already.'
Sandra knew Lizzy was going to say Yvonne. Their roommate who people said was so pretty, like a doll. Yvonne Bonnet was a half british half french witch, growing up in Paris, France. She was supposed to go to Beauxbatons, a wizarding school in France, but her family moved here before she could attend. Her parents decided Hogwarts was closer to where they were and now here she was, in Hogwarts.
