Lizzy accompanied her best friend to a jewellery shop in Hogsmeade. Shiny gemstones displayed itself behind clear glass cases. 'Welcome, welcome,' said a woman gladly. 'Oh, how are you loves, feel free to look around, they're all for sale.'

They both looked around at the shiny colourful gems. There were some raw minerals or the curated gemstones that were made into a necklace, bracelet, or ring.

'They're so pretty, San!' said Lizzy.

'They are!' Sandra said back. 'Ma'am, do you have clear quartz?'

'Clear quartz? We sure do,' she said. She got out from behind the counter and led them to a display. Clear quartz were presented in all shapes and sizes. Raw or jewellries.

'How much are they worth?' asked Sandra.

'The raw material starts from a galleon my dear. A galleon per carat.'

That's not so bad... maybe... Lizzy thought.

'What about the necklace? That one? How much is it?' Sandra asked.

'That is 35 galleons, 5 carat. A nice crystal point cut gemstone of clear quartz. High clarity, it gives a white clear pretty colour on the stone.'

Lizzy tried to act neutral, but she couldn't hide it in her eyes. She looked back and forth between Sandra and the seller.

'Any discount or bargain available?' Sandra asked.

'Unfortunately, this is a fixed price, my dear.'

Sandra glanced at Lizzy. She took a deep breath. 'Do you have ten carat?'

The woman was a bit surprised. She looked between the two. 'Of course, I'll get it from the back, hold on.' She went away and presented a box. She opened it to several different sizes and length to the clear quartz.

'These have been weighted the same, ten carats. Different clarity, high clarity is more expensive than the low clarity as it has less inclusions. Almost flawless to see.'

Sandra needed a ten carat clear quartz stone and it had to be clear enough. So the high clarity sounded about right.

'How much is the high clarity?' Sandra asked as she took the pocket microscope in the box to check what the woman meant.

'70 galleon, my dear. It's beautiful isn't it?'

'Yes, interesting... so, high clarity is more expensive than the low, why's that?'

'For the perfection of it. You can see the colours, without interference of other materials that might be in this one. The difference is quite minimal. And equally pretty.'

'How much is the low clarity?'

'These ones are 40 galleon, while these ones are 60 galleon as it almost doesn't look so different to the high clarity.'

'I see...'

Sandra, what are you doing?

'May I, ma'am?'

'Yes, of course, my dear.'

Sandra took the highest price and inspect it a bit with the pocket microscope. She then inspected the other two. 'It is, it isn't so different... I like this one...' she got the highest one. 'But it isn't far from the middle of 60... isn't it possible to get... about 60 as well?'

'This is very high quality, my dear.'

'Yes, but it's not as different, I could get the 60... how about... 64?'

The woman thought. 'I tell you what, 68 would do.'

Sandra was quiet for a moment. She looked at the necklace she needed. 'Okay then, 68 for this necklace would be nice.'
