This evening, the group sat in the Ravenclaw's long table in the Great Hall. Michael sat, annoyedly. Ginny sat next to him. The others stared at them in shock.

'Michael! You should've told us sooner,' said Sue in disbelief.

'Why didn't anyone tell me about this?' said Isobel. She glared at the people in Gryffindor and stopped at Lavender Brown. 'Lavender...'

'Easy now,' said Ginny nervously. 'Not many know about us yet.'

'We never see you two hang out together,' Sue said.

'We're in the library, mostly,' said Ginny.

Michael spoke lazily, 'This is why I don't want to tell you all. You make a big deal out of it.'

'But this IS a big deal!' said Isobel.

'Mike, sadly, we can't escape these lot from talking,' said Anthony.

'Ginny? What about your close mates?' said Sue.

'Well... I only wrote an owl to Rose and Kenai. We're mostly calm about it. We don't talk a lot,' Ginny confessed.

Lizzy, who was sitting at the end of the group, added, 'Her friends are very calm about everything. Kenai is dating my friend Brian and we don't actually talk about it that much too.'

'See, our problem is Isobel, I tell you, she makes--' said Terry.

'Terry!' Isobel yelled.

'Pardon...' said Apolline in her thick french accent, defending Terry. 'Terry is just speaking his mind, Isobel... We are free thinkers---but to me, I think this group is a lot of fun. We can talk about many things. So sometimes it's nice to have people care about us, really. I like you all.'

'Yeah, sometimes. Not always,' said Michael.

'Yeah, sometimes we need a little bit of privacy, you know,' Mandy added.

'Gosh Mandy, before dating Anthony, you used to be fun,' Sue said.

'Right, well,' said Michael, 'Enough about me and Ginny. Someone here owes us another confession.' He proceeded to stare at Joel.

Everyone looked at the blond boy. 'Okay... well, I'm dating Lizzy,' Joel said easily.

Flat. No one believed him.

'Hm,' said Terry unimpressedly.

Everyone looked at Michael. 'They're just friends, Michael,' Anthony said.

'Joel is telling the truth,' Michael said.

Everyone stared back at Joel and Lizzy again. 'Impossible,' said Isobel. 'Joel denies it for years now. They're just mates at this point.'

'Yeah,' said Anthony. 'Joel and Lizzy are mates since primary.'

'If you don't believe me, then, what about this?' Joel called. He leaned back, so everyone could see Lizzy a little better. He held Lizzy's nape, guiding her. He didn't need much pressure to have Lizzy leaning on him and kiss him on the lips. Everyone gasped. Lizzy blushed embarassedly that people were staring like that. 'Now you believe me?' asked Joel casually, looking at them.

They had to process it. Sue wanted to scream.

'No... w-wait,' said Anthony trying to get it in his head. 'Stop messing with us. You said you two are just mates.'

'We can have another go, just to be sure,' Joel challenged in confidence. Lizzy punched him lightly out of embarassment.

'B-but it doesn't make sense--' Sue said in denial. Joel and Lizzy's smile faltered. They had a bit of history with Sue, and it wasn't nice at all. 'You said to me... all those times when we were dating, you and Lizzy are just friends! You said it, again and again, and again! All that time, everyone's saying I'm mad, they told me I'm insecure... What game are you playing, Lisbon?'
