Sandra had her dark magic book a secret. No one knew about it, except her best friend. She stowed it under the bedside table, until everyone's gone for dinner and she took the time to read some chapters.

Everyday, she read it. She spent twenty minutes reading and reciting the dark spells. Her white quartz necklace would turn black after her annual reading. She cleansed it and put it back under her robe. Then she headed down to meet her friends for dinner.

She was in the hallway, about to enter the Great Hall, but Argus Filch, the Hogwarts caretaker, was blocking way with a very tall ladder. Some kids were waiting too. The man was nailing down Umbridge's new decree.

A girl spoke tiredly near Sandra. 'What is it this time?'

'She bans unofficial organizations... except inquisitorial squad.'

'Inquisitorial squad? What's that?'

'Means Umbridge's pet. Eyes and ears. I hear Draco Malfoy volunteered.'

'Many Slytherins in it.'

Filch finished nailing the new decree. He got down from the ladder and removed it from blocking everyone's way. Sandra entered the Great Hall. She sat down next to Lizzy. 'Did you hear about the new decree? It's so troublesome.'

'I know, I'm tired just hearing about it. What a hag,' said Lizzy.

'That woman is a mental,' said Markus, eating his spinach fritata.

Sandra was about to get a slice of roasted ham when Astoria arrived. 'Hi Sandra.'

Why, she thought. 'Yes. Astoria?'

'We're looking for inquisitorial squad members. Do you want to join?'

'I'll pass, thanks.'

'Your magic can help us, I assume you know how to detect souls in secret pla--'

'I know nothing what you're trying to say, Astoria. Let me eat in peace.'

Astoria frowned and left.

'You're not still involved with them... are you?' asked Markus in worry.

'No, shut up. I'm hungry.'

No one knew who gave information to Umbridge. Umbridge knew there was a secret society among the students, but she didn't know where to look. She had given privileges to certain students to be her eyes, ear, hands, and feet.

Joel and his friends had signed Hermione's list and was given a coin. The golden coin would heat up until they checked it themselves. There would be time and date written on the coin, telling them when the training would start.

They trained magic in Room of Requirements. Joel and his friends, and the rest of the members had just found out there was such a room. A room that could change itself to whoever needed it most. He thought it would have been useful if he knew about it before.

They trained and they learned. Joel was grateful he was part of the society. He found out he was good at some spells and some that he wasn't as good as other people here. He also learned new spells that he didn't know before.

Lizzy noticed Joel had been looking more tired lately. Joel was sitting next to her, during dinner. His eyes had bags, though he acted the way he usually was.

'Do you have training tomorrow?' Lizzy asked.

'Quidditch?'

'Yeah.'
