Lizzy breathed in deeply of a sudden achy sensation. She woke up, feeling like a turned on ice cream machine. Everything in her being was buzzing, loud, overpowering. She tried to get back to sleep but couldn't, tossing and turning in her bed; nothing she could do to rest
Outside of the house was dark. She could barely see anything in the room, but a single burning candle at a drawer, creating shadows from the furnitures i the room.
She got out of bed, bringing the candle through the house. It was dark, so quiet. She could hear her breathing. She put down the candle on a countertop and started making tea. She made it muggle way. It would have been quicker to use magic, she wished, oh she wished. If only the trace wouldn't bring the ministry Officials running for her.
She had just turned on the stove for the kettle when suddenly, the front door banged open.
Someone had just entered the house. Lizzy left the heating kettle as she hid behind a wall, near the kitchen's entryway. She peeked.
'Lizzy!' called Terry in the living room. 'Lizzy Clark! It's me, Terry.' The boy came to check on her bedroom, but she wasn't there.
'Terry? What are you doing here?' she asked in relief. She went to meet him in the living room, but then she saw his grave expression.
'I need your wand. It's urgent,' Terry said, extending his hand.
'Why?' Lizzy asked suspiciously.
'I don't have time to explain. Where is it?'
'How did Joel get into quidditch team?'
'What? Lizzy, I don't have time for th-'
She got her wand out which was in her pocket. 'I will use magic if I have to. Answer my question.'
Terry eyed it.
'Terry I'm not bluffing. I will hex you.'
The boy sighed. 'I persuaded Cup to make him a spare. There. Now let me borrow your--'
She took steps back. 'Where is Joel? Why isn't he with you?'
Out of the blue, Terry's dad came down to see the situation. 'What is this commotion about?' he asked, pulling in his sweater jacket closer.
Terry looked over at his dad for a second, then back to Lizzy. 'Fine, Joel's in trouble. My wand is with him. He got his wand taken, so I snuck mine before I go. Michael is talking to Ginny and Neville right now. We need the Order's help.'
'What?' Lizzy asked in a frown, thinking of actually hexing him. 'Where is he?'
'He's being held captive in the Ministry.'
'Why! What did you do, Terry!'
'It's his own idea, Lizzy! Damn it! He's trying to look for Carl. Probably because he feels obligated for you. Now I'm here to get him out and I can't do this without a wand. So it happens to be, you have one, now let me borrow--'
'You shouldn't have let him go there! That is exactly where we don't want to be! I can't believe you let him go there, Terry!'
'He's looking for Carl because of you! Don't think you're blameless to all of Joel's actions. Now I'm trying to get him out, give. me. your. wand,' he said impatiently.
Lizzy frowned. She was thinking about it. Yet, giving a wand away felt unbearable.
'Please... I will get Joel back. I can't promise you, but I will get him out.'
'Alive?'
Terry sighed. 'I know he'll want to escape with Carl. He wants it as much as you. I know you're frustrated, Lizzy, cause I am too. I'll make sure he's out.' He gestured his hand for the wand.
