"It's never too late Jiji." Felix stuffed a bite of cake into his mouth, wiping the crumbs off the corner of his lips with his thumb.
Jisung sighed slumping down in his seat, "Yes. Yes it is too late." He muttered, "How am I supposed to fix this now?"
"Uhhmm..." Felix, too, was stumped by the question, "I'm sure there's a way. You know that saying it goes something like, 'if there's a way.." he trailed off thinking of the correct words.
"If there's a will there's a way." Jisung finished his sentence, "But no. Sadly, this time, I don't think there's much for me to do."
"Okay, remind me, what even happened between you two?" He asked messing around with the food on his plate. The two were sat in a booth at their favorite Cafe again. It had been a few weeks since they had done so.
Jisung groaned, "I'll explain this one more time. My dad got invited to this work party and I have to go as well. I said yes, but only because I wanted him to spend more time with me. He got all excited and now I want to chicken out at the last minute, but I can't tell him cause I'd hurt his feelings."
Jisung had was on edge about this. He felt like he needed to go because it would be like a binding time for him and his father, and they especially needed that right now.
The man had been getting better with nit spending his entire days working, ans they'd even eaten dinner together a few times in the past two weeks, but he was starting to get back to his old ways.
When Jisung woke up in the morning and realized he hadn't seen his father for a day and a half, he had been utterly discouraged. How were they supposed to work things out?
Jisung wanted to spend time with his father, but not in a room full of other adults and their crappy children. That sounded well, awful. Jisung couldn't back out if the deal now though.
He would feel terrible about it. When he had first said yes to going, his father was ecstatic, in fact, they had gone suit shopping the very next day-- or rather Jisung did.
His father stayed home to work...
"Oh, right right." Felix said, "I have no idea what you're going to do. Maybe it'll be good for you?" The boy smiled comfortingly.
Jisung smiled back. He had been smiling a lot lately, especially around Felix. Ever since his friend had confided in him about how he really feels abouts Jisungs school life, Jisung made it his mission to make sure that Felix never worried at all.
Jisung had made it seem as if after he cut ties with Minho, his life had been super happy and nothing was goubg wrong, this was a lie however.
He was simply shifted from one person to the other, the bullying wasn't over. Jisung would give anything be back in Minhos bedroom kissing him softly, but that was impossible.
Jisung was starting to get depressed, and not just sad, but genuinely depressed.
When he went to sleep at night he had nightmares about Jeong-Hoon trying to kill him, so he started goubg to bed later, in hoped that he could avoid the dreams, but it never worked.
He cried at everything now. When he was struggling while doing homework he felt like he was useless and even on a few occasions he had even picked up a razor.
He'd never actually done anything with it, but it was still something that he had seriously thought about.
He remembered how he had pressed the blade to his skin with shaky hands before pulling back abruptly and dropping it onto the floor, his eyes blurry with tears.
He felt like he wasn't worth anything anymore. There was relentless teasing and mocking from Jeong-Hoon. The amount of public embarrassed made him want to kill himself every time.
All of this being said though, Jisubg wasn't goubg to tell Felix. The boy could no longer be his support system or dumping ground, it was time that Jisung start to help Felix instead.
"Yeah.." Jisung said, suddenly zoning off. He stared at the table in front of him clenching his fists slightly.
"Are you okay?" Felix asked, only earning a hum in response from his friend.
"Just thinking.." Jisung whispered, "Its nothing." He looked back up at his friend, not sure if he really was okay.
"Alright." Felix smiled, "Let me know if you ever need someone to talk to 'kay?" He asked.
Jisung nodded, "Always."
