Jisung didn't want to, but he was forced to. Felix said that it was no use moping around and that he needed to go out and do something to get his mind off of everything.
Tomorrow they were going to go have their first court hearing.. in the room. Talking about all of this shit.
What was even more scary than being forced to talk to Jeong-Hoon though? Seeing Minho after getting broken up with by him. That was worse.
Felix said he needed to forget about it for a few hours so he had to go hang out with him, Hyunjin, Changbin, Jeongin and Seungmin. Apparently Chan wasn't able to go, for whatever reason.
It was obvious why Minho wasn't going. He almost felt bad that they were all spending time with him rather than their actual friend, Minho. Didn't Minho deserve to be comforted by them more that Jisung did?
Jisung got ready in his usual sweater and jeans, painfully basic but it's not like he had enough confidence to wear what he actually liked. He had a shower and tried to cover up his drowsy eyes with makeup – not that it worked.
He trotted down the stairs seeing his father standing at the kitchen island doing something on his laptop. What was he doing? Jisung had no idea or interest.
He slipped on his shoes, ready to leave and hop in Felix's car—that was, until his dad made a great effort in stopping him.
"Where are you going?" He seemed to snap at him, as if he was only asking to get Jisung worked up.
Jisung took a breath, stopping his way for a moment, "I'm going to meet up with Felix and some friends."
"What friends?"
"Hyunjin, Seungmin, Jeongin and Changbin."
"And that's not just an excuse to go see Minho? You know if I catch you anywhere near him you can start packing your stuff." He was quick to say this despite the long term consequences.
"You've said." Jisung tried his best not to get mad nor seem mad, "I'm not going to see Minho."
'It's not like he'd want to see me right now anyway.' Jisung thought to himself.
His dad seemed to think about these words for a few minutes before asking another question, again, regarding Minho, "Do these people know Minho?"
Jisung sighed knowing there was only really one way he could answer this question, "They're his friends too, but Minho isn't going to be there."
"They're friends with Minho? Even after they know what he did to you?"
Jisung nodded. 'What Minho did to him' could be forgiven if you understood the whole story. Unfortunately for Jisung, his father lacked that knowledge.
"Then no." He shut his computer, "You can't go out with them. It's clear that they're just as bad of people as Minho is."
Jisung squinted his eyes at the man. How did that logic even make sense? He didn't even know them in any way shape or form, so how could he possibly make that judgment?
"I dont understand." Jisung was starting to let his annoyance show through his voice, "You want me to get over Minho, but every time I try you come up with some reason for me not to – do you ever want me to be fucking happy?"
"Watch how you speak to me Jisung, you would never have spoken to your mother that way if she tried to protect you—" He started, but got cut off quickly.
"She never would have taken the person I love away from me forever! She would have understood what I was going through, she would have been there for me!" Now his voice showed a mixture of sadness and guilt.
His father pressed his lips together tightly, clearly not a fan of how he had just been compared to his wife. "Am I not a good enough parent for you Jisung?"
A profound silence hovered over the room as Jisung didn't know how to answer. There were times when he really wasn't, but there were also times when he was totally enough.
"Right now?" Jisung asked quietly, looking into his dad's eyes for the first time in a while.
"Sure. Right now."
"No. You're not a good enough parent." He whispered, barely loud enough for his dad to hear.
Neither of them said anything else. The clock ticked by in the corner of the room and Jisung counted 64 tiks before another single word was spoken.
"I'm trying to be there for you Jisung, but you're so blind to how I'm trying to help you. Minho is no good, you just need to see that." He shook his head, looking back at the floor.
"And I'm trying to tell you that he isn't a bad person. He was the only person getting me through all this and you've just torn him away from me for good. I really loved him." Jisungs words simply sat heavy in the air with nothing to keep them there.
They sank to the ground before the man finally responded, "I guess we'll see, won't we." It was phrased as a question but Jisung shook his head regardless, swinging the door open and going to hop in Felix's car.
He would think about this mess later.
