3 days.

Thats all Jisung was able to think about all week, and now having to sit in a room with Minho, his dad and his own father talking about the subject was no help.

Both lawyers were present as well as one other man Jisung was barley familiar with. They went over the whole process at least 7 times, but Jisung tuned out a while ago.

Whether he was trying to pay attention to the conversation, or if he simply gave up, he couldn't force himself to listen. The words were vague shadows that simply sped around in his head before flying away.

For a while he was staring at Minho, then at the lawyers in their fancy suits, then at Mr. Lee, and then at the way his father looked slightly angry every time Minho opened his mouth to speak.

It was very subtle but it seemed that both Minho and Mr. Lee had noticed the expressions. Jisung felt kind of embarrassed that his father was acting that way, but no one dared to say a word about it.

It wasn't a big mystery to understand the context.

"Jisung?" His name being spoken snapped him back into reality and he lifted his eyes from where they were placed on Minho's hands.

"Ah, uhm, yes?" He tried to play it off like he had been paying attention, but everyone already knew he was zoning off.

"I understand that you're probably very preoccupation and stressed, but I ask that you give your full attention to this conversation." Minho's lawyer spoke.

Jisung flushed an embarrassed red, "Yes, I'm sorry." He avoided eye contact.

"Hm. Did you recall the question I asked?" The woman flipped to another page in her notes. Jisung had forgotten her name, but he was pretty sure it was Ms. Kang.

"I'm sorry, no.." Jisung mumbled. He must look like he didn't even care about the meeting.

"Mm." She smiled tightly, "I asked if it was possible for you and Minho to stay out of close contact for a while. It's best you don't interact in any way until it's safe to do so."

Jisung lifted his head to say something, when his dad let out a light chuckle, "Don't worry about that. As far as I can help it the two of them have been very separated. Since I found out about all this in fact."

Jisung looked over at Minho just to see him glance away. Neither of them said anything, both of them knowing that if his dad found out..

"Oh? I've been told that the two of you have been in contact recently. Have you not been pursuing a romantic interest?" As soon as the words left Mr. Kim's mouth Jisung shut his eyes tightly.

This was not good. He had only told Mr. Kim to be safe, in case that was important information, but he didn't think his dad would get to know unless it became absolutely necessary.

"What?" Mr. Han's voice was unreadable, but it didn't sound happy, "Recently as in since after we hired you?"

"Yes, sir." Mr. Kim nodded, "Where you not aware? Have you two been in contact or no?"

Minho opened his mouth to talk but his dad placed a hand on his arm, signaling for him not to. "Let Jisung answer." He said calmly.

Jisung opened his eyes, looking around the table. He hated being out in a position like this, but he couldn't lie. What if the lawyers needed to know?

"Yes.. we've been in contact mostly throughout the time that this legal stuff had been going on – but recently we barely said a word to eachother.."

There was a long pause, everyone waiting for Mr. Han to say something but he never did.

Minho soon sat up, not listening when his father told him not to speak, "Mr. Han I'm sorry, I was the one who started talking to him. You should get mad at me—"

"Trust me Minho, I'm mad at you." He snapped quickly, "I can't believe you've been lying to me Jisung. I've told you a million times—"

"I know, I know.. I'm sorry." He rested his head I his arms, his hands covering his ears.

His dad was about to get even more mad when Ms. Kang stepped in, "This seems like a personal topic for the four of you to figure out. How about we stick to the professor aspect for now? All I need to know is whether you two have been in contact in the past 30 days."

"We have.." Jisung said quietly, loud enough for everyone to hear. He could feel how angry his dad was just from sitting beside him.

"Okay. Then we ask that the two of you don't speak for now. It's dangerous in case Jeong-Hoon finds out and it could be used as an opposing argument in court." She smiled but she didn't seem happy or friendly.

Jisung looked up to glance at Minho for a moment, but the elder wasn't looking at him. He was staring at the table looking... angry. Why was he angry right now?

His dad seemed to give him a weary look, as if to warn him not to speak on the topic any more.

Jisung let out a small puff of air, knowing that when him and his dad went home after this everything would go to shit.

No longer would there ever be a chance for him and Minho to become a real couple. They should have hidden it better. They shouldn't have told the lawyers, the should have waited until this was all over...

They shouldn't have done it in the first place.

They should have known this would happen right? It seemed so simple, so how could they assume that everything would be fine. Jisung felt stupid, disappointed and defeated.

Him and Minho had no chance and it was all his fault for telling the lawyer.

Tears came welling in his eyes and he tried to blink them away but it didn't work. This was a terrible time to cry but he had no choice.

It was hopeless.
