School was officially out for winter break at this point, so Jisung was more than happy. He always loved having vacations from school.

He liked that he had a break from Minho, Jeong-Hoon, JinYoung and everyone else that he didn't really like seeing on a day to day basis.

He had finished all of his homework within the first two days of having a break, and now he was completely free to do anything he wanted to.

He thought about opening Minho gift to him a few times, but decided he would wait until Christmas morning, as he did with any other present he might have received.

Generally he didn't get too many presents. He got cards in the mail from aunts and uncles, which he appreciated dearly because they made him feel seen, even though they probably sent the exact same message to every other grandchild, niece or nephew.

He also got a present from his father, and one from Felix, both of which being people he would also get presents for.

There were a few years where he had other friends that he wasn't close enough to to get or receive a gift for or from them, so he just made cookies.

That stopped however when he made cookies for someone in his last year of middle school and that person shared them with the rest of their friends.

That wasn't the problem though, it was that they then proceeded to act like they were disgusting and make fun of him for trying to give them out as a present. It made Jisung feel like a terrible friend for not getting them a real gift, and decided not to risk it ever again.

Today wasn't about negative memories like that though. It was about being happy and putting up Christmas decorations.

His father was working today, despite the fact that they were both on Christmas break, so he had to set everything up on his own. Earlier that day Jisung had picked up a Christmas tree, and after tidying the house, he was going to decorate it.

He dragged all of the decorations out of the boxes downstairs, and he was ready to get started, right after he got dressed.

He wasn't sure why, but seeing as he was home alone, and would be for another few hours, he wanted to dress up to look nice.

He opened his closet and pulled out a few things. Three skirts that he had bought online without anyone knowing, knee high stocking, and a few cute tops.

He decided to go with a sweater rather than a crop top to fit with the winter theme, and some long socks.

He figured that it would be fine, as no one but him would him like this.

He slipped the outfit on, trying on a few different things, before settling on a large wight sweater, the front ticked into a pastel purple skirt and white socks.

He skimmed his hands over his body, looking in the mirror. He was very pleased with how the outfit had turned out.
He skipped downstairs, feeling good about himself.

Sometimes he got random spirts of confidence. He had no idea where they came from or why, but be really wasn't complaining. It felt good to feel good once in a while.

He made a cup of tea, sipping on it lightly as he started hanging ornaments on the tree. He wanted to fit with a certain theme, but wasn't sure how he should go about it.

He was thinking maybe to go modern with golds, silvers and white, or maybe with the traditional reds and gold? He wasn't sure.

His mother collected ornaments every Christmas season with no specific qualities in mind, so they had a huge collection of very diverse decorations.

He could do anything from completely white, to the entire rainbow organized down the tree.

Eventually he decided upon white, silver and gold, but it took him way to long. Probably half an hour of digging through the bins and finding different assortments to try out.

It was only 12pm, but at this rate it might take him way to long. He still needed to bake cookies still as well.

He only had two days to get this done too, because he was very late to get started. It was December 22nd already.

He would have done this on something like that 15th, but he was waiting for his father to be free so they could do it together, which obviously never happened, and he had no motivation.

He was very depressed lately, and no matter how fun he found this stuff to be, he couldn't bring himself to do it. He had lost all hope for a while there.

But this morning he woke up to a good morning and pancakes from his father. They couldn't eat together because the man had to leave for work, but it was the thought that counted right?

He was glad that his Appa was at least thinking of him.
