Hyunjin
Minho

Minho
Hm?

Wanna hang out tomorrow?

I dunno
I'm kinda busy

You're always busy
Just spare me like an hour tomorrow

Fine.

. . .

Did Minho really want to spend a bunch of time with Hyunjin right now? Not really, and not because he didn't like Hyunjin, just because he had so much on his mind.

There was a million things he had to get done, but what was the harm in going over for an hour to spend time with his best friend.. or was best friend.

Minho couldn't lie, ever since he started questioning his sexuality he had pushed his friends away, including Hyunjin who had been his best friend ever. Since childhood, really.

He felt bad about it sometimes, but at the end of the day it was one of his lesser issues. Maybe today he could strike this off of his list of things that had to get fixed.

It was still hard for him to wrap his head around how they had grown apart in just 5 months, considering how inseparable they had been when they were young.

Minho also took note of how all of his friends kind of went to comfort Jisung through all of this.. rather than him. He wasn't about to get mad about it though, all things considered.

Sometimes he felt he had to remind himself that Jisung was the victim, not himself.

Minho knocked on the door of Hyunjin's house, which was huge by the way. His parents were just as loaded as Minho's were after all.

The door quickly opened and a woman dressed in a household uniform opened the door, obviously someone who worked there. Probably a maid of sorts.

She welcomed the boy in and said the Hyunjin was waiting for him in his room and to just go upstairs to find him. Obviously this wasn't a problem because Minho knew exactly where Hyunjin's room was, but it was rather weird.

Being in the Hwang's house for the first time in so long. Everything did look pretty much the same though, despite maybe a few vases that had been exchanged for new ones.

When Minho arrived at his friends door he knocked, hearing Hyunjin yell for him to come in. He opened the door casually, seeing Hyunjin laying on his bed playing some violent video game.

"Hey." He mumbled, flopping down to sit on the bed as well, "What are you playing." He wasn't actually interested, but he needed something to make conversation with.

"Doesn't matter." Hyunjin turned the game off, rolling over to look at his friend, "I wanted to talk to you. Y'know.. about everything."

Minho nodded. He probably should have known that Hyunjin just wanted more information on the case. Seems like that the only reason anyone would talk to him.

"Oh.. right." Mimho muttered, unimpressed.

"Are you okay?"

The question seemed to shock him and it took Minho a moment to answer, "Am I, okay?" He repeated wearily.

Hyunjin nodded, "We never seem to talk anymore and I'm worried about you.. we used to tell eachother everything but ever since Jisung came along we've barely spoken."

Minho looked at him for a second and then looked away, "Yeah, I'm fine. Sorry I got so distracted this year, I'm just.."

"Are you really fine?" Hyunjin asked again, sitting up to look at him, "You don't seem fine. You seem tired and disappointed."

Minho shrugged, "I'm fine, yeah."

Hyunjin let out a sigh, knowing better than to believe his friend, "Don't bullshit me Minho."

"I'm not bullshitting. I'm fine." He seemed to get a little more defensive of his answer.

"Minho—"

"I'm fine Hyunjin."

"No. You're not."

"Okay maybe I'm not?" Minho stood up, angry all of a sudden, "Don't I have a right to be upset? I lost Jisung, my dad thinks I'm a disappointment, everyone knows I'm gay, Jeong-Hoon might not go to jail and on top of that everyone always runs to Jisung's side—What if I want someone to tell me that it's not my fault? What if—"

Minho stopped when he felt a pair of arms wrap around him tightly, feeling Hyunjin grab onto him. He forgot how good it felt to hug Hyunjin..

"I'm sorry.. I didn't think that me helping Jisung made you feel like that, but I promise I didn't mean it that way.." his voice was soft and controlled, drifting into Minho's ears like honey.

"I know.. but I just want someone to know how hard I'm trying.. I swear to God I'm trying but no one seems to see me." Minho sniffed, tears welling in his eyes, "I just want someone to protect me like I try to protect Jisung.."

Hyunjin nodded, "I promise to protect you. Chan will to, and so will everyone else. We didn't choose Jisung over you, I promise."

Minho sniffed again, "I'm sorry. I know I'm not the victim here."

There was a pause, "Of course you are." Hyunjin mumbled, "You were hurt by this just as much as anyone else."

Minho sighed. He knew Hyunjin was only partially right, but he didn't bother correct him. He liked to be seen as the victim for once, the person that didn't cause all of this.

Even though he technically did.

He still remembered the day that he gave Jisung away and how much of a coward he was to do something as messed up as that. Sometimes he still wished he never even met Jisung..

But he loved the boy so much..

Right?
