Y/N's POV

The start of my summer holidays were somewhat peaceful.

I had spent the first days of summer reading books, helping my mother tend to her gardens, flying around the backyard with my Firebolt, and sometimes helping Pippy make sweets.

Nothing had changed until around three weeks since I came home for the summer break, when I woke up and saw that my eyes had changed colours again.

Only this time, it was permanent.

My father had assured me that it was nothing for me to be anxious or scared about, and since days passed and there wasn't any other significant change with my eyes — aside from the silver colour — I shrugged it off and went on to live my life as I've had.

It took a while for me to stop being surprised at the sight of my silver eyes on my reflection, but I managed. I wrote in my letters to my friends of the news of another change in my appearance, so it would be less of a shock for them when they do see me. Thankfully, none of them said anything negative about it.

I found myself in constant exchange of letters with mostly Draco and Harry. I've written to and received letters from them much more than last summer — especially since Draco and I never wrote letters to each other previously.

Harry was spending his summer as usual with his dreadful Muggle relatives, but since Ron had mentioned about inviting Harry over to stay at their house, he seemed more optimistic in his letters. Although there was one instance where he asked for help; nothing ultimately serious. He was asking if I could send him food since he was being forced to eat like a herbivore for the remainder of the summer due to his cousin's diet. I felt sympathetic of his situation and had Pippy deliver a box full assortment of sweets and some pies for Harry.

As for Draco, he's staying at Malfoy Manor as usual. But he said his father had been furious with him, due to the fact that he told Fudge that Lucius had just misunderstood the situation concerning Buckbeak. So far he isn't allowed to go out.

Draco's awfully chatty in his letters and I always seem to find his owl, Ulysses, tapping on my window several times a day. I enjoyed exchanging letters with Draco tremendously, and if I was being totally honest, it just strengthened my liking for him too, although I was still trying my very best to deny that to myself.

As for the rest of my friends; Daphne is currently on vacation with her family but her letters about Astoria getting on her nerves still kept on coming;

Pansy is also jetting off around Europe with her parents, she'd sent me countless postcards of sceneries and had wrote to me stories of meeting handsome foreign wizards;

Blaise's Mum's fourth husband was found dead early on during the summer, and just after a few weeks, she got married to her 5th husband. Blaise said he liked the bloke this time, although he says it's a pity that he'll surely die one of these days too. I didn't really have an answer for that.

Ever since summer started I had been badgering Theo about the sniggers and whispers I noticed at the train. I'm pretty sure there was something going on, but Theo hasn't cracked yet quite surprisingly.

Hermione's letters were filled with a lot of questions about my friendship with Draco, and if I think Ron is cute in a funny-looking sort of way.

It's been quite hard to keep up a lie and convince Hermione that Draco and I are just friends, and that I do not have any sort of romantic feelings for him. I was still very hesitant to admit to myself — let alone to someone else, that I liked Draco. Much more than I thought.
