On Friday, the sky was as sullen and gloomy as I was feeling. I was exhausted despite it being only the first week of classes, and I can barely stay afloat with all the drowning schoolwork already assigned to us. There were only two things that sustained me to push through with today: Quidditch Tryouts and the start of my feeble attempt to make Umbridge pay for what she's doing to Harry during detention.

I devised a somewhat childish plan of humiliating her every chance I could get, seeing as I have no real power to do anything. It may seem a bit futile and quite minuscule, but I figured annoying Umbridge and making her lose face would be quite a satisfaction to the raging anger I felt towards her.

After Herbology ended with another essay homework on self-fertilizing shrubs, I was almost bouncing on my feet as we headed our way to the DADA classroom.

"Why do you seem to excited to head to class?" Draco asked from beside me.

Daphne let out a small gasp of shock. "Y/N, are you looking forward having to have classes with that toad?"

Pansy had on the same look beside her. "Should we now feed you that plant Longbottom owns?"

Theo, Blaise, and Draco all let out a gag at hearing Pansy's words. Even I couldn't help the look of disgust that appeared on my face.

"No need for that." I said. I honestly think that the Mimbulus Mimbletonia plant was poisonous, so if the thought of eating it doesn't kill me, then actually doing it just might.

"Then why are you looking excited?" Theo asked. "Normally, you'd be singing complaints and protests by now."

"I'm just excited for tryouts later." It wasn't really a lie. "I'm looking forward for classes to end, then head to tryouts. And the faster we're done with today, the sooner the weekend would come. That's what I'm really excited about."

Draco shrugged, obviously unconvinced, though he did not pry anymore. "If you say so then."

When we walked inside the DADA classroom, Umbridge was already there, clad in all her ugly pink outfit glory. We silently took our seats and waited for her to start the lecture.

"Wands away." She instructed. "As we finished chapter one last lesson, I would like you all to turn to page nineteen of your books and commence chapter two 'Common Defensive Theories and Their Derivation.' there will be no need to talk."

The class gave an audible sigh as they all turned the pages of their book, I on the other hand, shot my hand upwards.

Draco stared at me in confusion just as Umbridge turned to me. "What is it this time, Miss Silvermade?"

"I've already read chapter two." I said simply.

"Well..." Umbridge smiled. "Then proceed to chapter three."

"I've already read that too." I said.

I can see a vein throb in Umbridge's forehead. "Chapter four then."

"I've read chapter four." I said, smiling a little. "I've read the whole book."

In reality, the main reason for my utter exhaustion was the fact that I forced myself to read, understand, and memorize the whole book written by Slinkhard. I figured if I'd done in a day what Umbridge thinks we could not manage, I had more reason to be haughty and she could not punish me for being ignorant in her class. After all, she did say that wizards much smarter than I was had devised our program of study, so knowing everything what 'smarter than me' wizards had written would definitely annoy her.

"That is impossible." Umbridge said breathily.

"No, it isn't." I said. "I've read everything. There is nothing for me to learn from Slinkhard."
