Everything is so absurd.

I clutched the strap of my bag tugging it a bit high on my back then glared at the name written right in the arch, San Lazarrus Jesuit Academia since 1981.

It was a school all right. My new school.

Yet my conviction got me a little doubt.

"Is this the place?" I muttered silently, checking the spectacles around.

The lawn of the front yard was trimmed, well-manicured, also has topiaries and hedges, rosebeds and fountains, decorated with cherubs and faunas, moreover, a decent size oval for outdoor track and field. A separated, fenced lawn tennis court and the overview of a dome roofing, behind the building on my left, suggest probably the gymnasium or a coliseum.

It seems okay and well maintained.

I mean, it doesn't seem in a dilapidated, broken state or whatever.

Why did Nana Yngrid want me to be here in the first place?

So I decided to find out, there must be a huge mistake here, there must be a conspiracy hiding beneath this enticing façade.

Or could it be, that Nana tricked me again, forcing me to have a normal high school life? Like a simple and normal life of a teenager just how she wanted me to be.

There's only one way to find out, I must attend this school and learn the ways out here, let's see if I can own this place as my domain and practice my law of truth.

I inhaled deeply and released a puff as I scanned the bulletin for the location, it says the opening ceremony will be held in Gymnasium, in the Southeast wing area, at exact 7 am.

So I automatically glanced at my wristwatch, I was fifteen minutes ahead of time. I have to familiarize this place, the sooner the better.

This will be my new place, unlike in Abingdon or Galatea, this place is better and beyond in comparison but I'm not taking my hopes high, Ms Zaragoza won't hire me for this job if it was just for a whim.

This is my case number 0407-3, code of conduct. I'm giving my all to solve this one.

Someone bumped on my back. I sidled a glance and sized the guy up.

"Sorry, pasensya na, di kasi ako nakatingin, sorry!"

It was a girl. Stupid, blind girl.

"Watch where you're going," then I turned and started to walk.

When a hand grabbed my arm. I automatically tugged it off me. Then scowled her.

"Sensya na ulit, hindi ko kasi alam ang papunta sa gym, pwedeng pasabay?"

I gave her a whole scan. She looked obviously dumb to talk to me and too little oblivious to my incriminating stare.

"New student?"

She nodded while gnawing her nails. I really hate that mannerism.

"Baka kasi mawala ako,"

I gave her an incredulous look. "Do I look like someone who cares?"

"Sige na, new student ka rin naman eh,"

She even pointed out the lining on my sleeve, the one, that she kept on grabbing. I snapped my arm away from her. "Go find someone and don't bother me, get lost."

"Eh baka nga—"

"I don't care," I finally marched away.

I was halfway to the gym when I heard some raucous, guffaws or just loud voices.
