"Who's Park Chaeyoung?"
Hoseok cocked an eyebrow up at Jimin's question. Face scrunched up, eyes squinted. He leaned in closer. His hand in contact with Jimin's skin. Neck, cheeks and lastly his forehead. His long fingers then took it on themselves to flick the younger on the forehead,
"Jimin-ah, you broke your promise, didn't you?"
"What do you mean, Hyung?"
"Well, don't you remember? You promised to not fall in love till you excel in your English course? You have shown zero progress in your lessons, yet you fell for Park Chaeyoung? Tsk. Pervert."
"I didn't fall for her Hyung!"
Liar. Lies. Park Chaeyoung was an ethereal beauty. And Park Jimin was a Libra. It was easy for the cupid's arrow to go through him.
"Then why are you asking?"
"Nothing. Just..."
Jimin tried to gulp away his curiosity for the dreamy girl with bubble gum hair, similar to his. A slender frame, almond eyes with a pool of honey inside. Plump lips, a sharp jawline. The voice fit for singing the heaven's trye words. Queries and curiosity and love overflowing through her. Miss. Park Chaeyoung. Rosé.
He went on to lie,
"Bumped into her. She seemed to have mistaken me as her lover."
"Jimin Oppa?"
Lisa poked her cheek with her tongue. Trying not to be rude with the lovely boy in front of her. But what can she do? Jungkook was late. He was supposed to be here 5 minutes ago.
Jimin smiled. His original goal was Sierra. But Taehyung confirmed she had a shift that doesn't end until half an hour more. So, Lisa was a good enough option.
"Yeah, how's life Lisa?"
"What do you want? Did you forget Rosie's favourite icecream flavour again? Oppa..."
"Actually I wanted to ask, who actually Park Chaeyoung is."
A punch straight to her face. Her hands still mid air, from the past annoyed exclamation. Her eyes that were once rolling, now were popping out of their sockets,
"Oppa, are you drunk?"
"What is wrong with everyone? Gosh! Can't a man be curious about a girl! Jesus!"
Why were they reacting as if him not knowing Park Chaeyoung was a grave sin? As if the heavens had been burnt to ashes?
"Hyung, so you are trying to say that 'YOU' forgot 'PARK CHAEYOUNG'?"
Jungkook forgot the fear of showing late. Instead, his heart twisted for a second. Why would his Hyung lie? He glanced at Lisa, who was equally shocked as him. Jimin grunted,
"Forget? What do you mean forget? I don't even know Park Chaeyoung. We bumped into each other this morning. She thought I was her lover..."
"No!"
Lisa shrieked, stepping back. Her hand pressed firmly against her agape lips. Tears triggering to fall, any moment from her large doll eyes.
Jungkook felt arrows go through his heart. This time of Athena's, instead of Cupid's. Worry written all over his face. His doe eyes focused on the young woman. Old habits don't die easily. Jungkook stepped forward, to wrap her in his embrace. Make her feel safe and warm. But she brushed his hands away sharply. She stuttered,
"I-I... I gotta go."
Rosé looked pale. Her almond eyes lacking their usual warmth. As if she was at the receiving end of a dementor's kiss.
"Yah! Watch where you're going man! You... Rosé?"
As if it had been ages. Since Lisa last crossed paths with Rosé. Or Jennie or Jisoo or Sierra. As if they were never acquaintances.
A thump in her heart. How blank Rosé looked. Chills flowing down her spine. The hair at the back of her neck standing up.
"Rosie? Is something wrong? Are you..."
A distant feeling. Jamais Vu hitting her to the core. She felt a wet patch on her shoulder. Rosé... Was crying? A faint, nasally sob,
"Lili, it's getting way too hard. It's going out of my reach."
Lisa's long fingers patted her friend's back. She felt slight shivers against her palms. An ache in her heart. Confirming, somewhere inside the old Lalisa Manoban lived on.
Rosé let go, as abruptly she had landed her arms around Lisa. She sniffled, her nose cherry red,
"Wear the friendship bracelets we got, make me wear it too. I want to be reminded of you guys till my grave. I know, what it feels to be forgotten. I don't want you guys to go through it. I want to take you guys to my grave."
Tears rushing down her big eyes. Her lips pressed under her teeth. Sniffling, howling almost. Rosé was her best friend before all this happened. Before all this messed them up.
Her knees felt weak. As if they would snap off any moment. Her heartbeat increased tem times, atleast. Her fist firmly pinned against her chest. Her heart whispered,
"Rosie, please hold on a bit more."
Her fists banging against the locked door. Crying out, screaming. As if she had let go of the last bit of sanity left in her. Bawling her eyes out.
Her swollen fingers somehow typed out a number. A number she knew could trust. A number she knew would help. Her lips shaking, as her head spun like a merry go round.
"Lisa?"
Sierra's voice was enough to make Lalisa Manoban breakdown. As if all she held inside her pouring out. The guilt. The anger. The fear. The love.
Sierra had just gotten off her shift. Her back was killing her. But Lisa's phone and her sobs were more important. Even if she was juggling the whole world in her palms, the moment her loved ones ask her to hold them in her arms, she would drop the world and create the most comfortable shelter for them.
"Lalisa Manoban! Are you fucking okay? Are yiu hurt? What happened? Lali!"
"R-ro-rosie's. NOW!"
Lisa sobbed, throwing her head back. Why? Why couldn't she be there for Rosé? What happens if Rosé isn't safe? Why couldn't she hear out Rosé after all she has been going through? Why couldn't she be there for Rosé when Jimin forgot her? Why? Why did you have to only think of yourself Lalisa Manoban. Would things be different, if they didn't break their bonds?
