Yoongi always wished to have Jennie by his side till the ends of his world, from the day he first saw her. But these days, he felt as if his world was ending with each second. He felt a very bitter pain inside his ribs. He wanted to scream. He wanted to burn everything down and tear the earth to the core. But all he could do was whisper,
"Calm down, Kim. We'll figure a way out together."
Jennie was rather patient with the world. She believed that whatever is to happen will happen. She'd rather have the pain to herself, than show it. She'd rather let the pain tear herself into shreds, rather than letting herself tear the earth down. But now that she was in her arms, she knew she could let her worst sides show.
"WE CANNOT FIGURE ANYTHING OUT MIN YOONGI. WE ARE FUCKED. SOMEONE RATTED OUR LOCATION TO THEM AND NOW THEY ARE NOT GOING TO LET US STAY TOGETHER EVER. MIN YOONGI, YOU KNOW RIGHT, IT'S NO ONE BUT YOU FOR ME? I CAN'T LIVE ANOTEHR MOMENT IN MY PAST LIFE. I WANNA LIVE WITH YOU. PLEASE, I DON'T WANT TO GO BACK. I WANT MY LAST MOMENTS TO BE WITH YOU. THEY'LL TEAR US APART, AND PROBABLY NEVER GIVE US THE CHANCE TO BE WITH EACH OTHER. BUT... BUT... I LOVE YOU. AND THERE'S NO WAY I'LL BE WITHOUT YOU. I'D RATHER DIE THAN LET GO OF YOU."
Yoongi felt as if he was dying moment by moment. Jennie was messily crying in his arms. He felt as if someone was plunging a knife through his heart, over and over again. He felt as if death would've been more peaceful than this. He pecked her forehead, hugging her close to his heart,
"I love you, Kim. This is killing me too. That this maybe our very last moments..."
"I CAN'T LET THAT HAPPEN! I WOULD RATHER DIE..."
"Kim we can find a way. There always is a way. We can perhaps..."
Jennie moved away from his arms. Taking a few steps back, rubbing her tears with the back of her palms. Her sharp eyes looked sharper with tears in them. Her face was as red a s cherry. She sniffed, hoarsely saying,
"Min Yoongi, would you regret death if we were together?"
Yoongi calmly walked towards her, wrapping his arms around her. Gently pecking her forehead again, as he tucked her hair behind her ears. His eyes glistened with tears. He knew her by heart. With the arrival of his fate, he softly said,
"Kim Jennie, I love you."
Lisa wokeup from the worst nightmare she ever saw. Drenched in complete sweat and gasping for air. She pushed her blanket away, getting out of her bed. She sat next to the window, trying to forget the nightmare. It was her Jennie Unnie. Everything else around her was warm and very eye blindingly bright orange. As she tried advancing towards her, she slowly merged into the warmth. And then she saw Jungkook. And he held her hand, she started crying as soon as her eyes met his soft features. She started yelling and cursing. Their voices blending in into a chorus. And then she remembers a very loud screech. A blinding green light and... And she woke up. Exhausted from the dream. She texted Jennie first,
Unnie.
Are you alright?
I just had this scary dream about you.
Then she fiddled with her phone. Biting her lips, she kept on thinking. Jungkook doesn't reply to her texts, so why should she text him? But then again, she saw her reflection in his eyes. And it all just felt too real. She scratched her own hair, muttering to herself,
"Fuck it..."
She found the window on his name. She heard a pitter-patter inside her heart. She felt she would puke out butterflies any moment. She fuzzily typed out,
Hey Jungkook. I know you won't replybut... How immature can yiu be? Stop acting like a bitvh and let's talk it out luke adukts.
But she didn't send it. She didn't have it in her to get seenzoned again. She can't take it anymore. She threw the phone away, clawing on her skin with frustration. All she ever wanted was happiness.
Jungkook still stared at the screen. He saw Lisa type a message and then delete it. He wanted to ask her. But he didn't want to get stuck on the same old cycle. Cause if he does, he'll probably die from a heartbreak. Even now, if he hears Lisa breathe, he may die from longing. He rubbed a single tear that glided out of his doe eyes away,
"Lalisa, please. Please don't kill me like this. All I ever want is you to be happy. I have already lost myself so that you can be happy. I don't have anything to lose. Please Lalisa, don't kill me like this. Let my heart beat."
The possibilities of them having a happy ending were endless. This was a happy ending too. Yoongi had his arms tightly wrapped around her frame. Jennie snuggled her face on his chest. Both could feel the other's tears. The tears were quick to evaporate under the flames.
It was shamefully hard to make a decision as such. Now, anyone could come and say that they just could've chose to survive. But, do you think it is a choice? They both wanted happiness, and happiness only. They thought of ways to be saved. They thpught of ways to be together. But the world was too cruel for them. Atleast, even under the scorching flames, they were together.
If they had gone back to Seoul, unwillingly ofcourse. Their parents would never let them be together. Even if they were married, they would've tore them apart. It's better this way. Death is better than the constant pain of separation.
As the fire slowly tickled them, they hugged each other tighter. For the last time, they sniffed each other's fragrance. Yoongi whispered through his tears, trying his best to talk as gently as possible to her,
"Kim Jennie, in our next lives, let's fall in love with each other again. Let's get married and have kids and at the end of the day, let me peel the tangerines for you and massage your shoulders. Kim Jennie, in our next lives, let's be happy."
