The church authorities were grieved to see the young souls that held Mrs. Kim's funeral, be the ones inside the caskets. It was a very harsh blow for the ones left behind. Everyone that knew Jisoo and Namjoon had brought flowers. It looked spring. As if they were in a flower garden.
Sierra had eye bags and acne. Greasy hair and a stuffy nose. Chapped lips and red eyes. Taehyung dressed her up almost. Picking out his black blazer and his black shirt with her skinny jeans and forcing her to get out of bed. Yeah Taehyung did all that. He was in the worst of the stages too. He was pale and fragile. He was wearing a black suit, with a white shirt underneath. Just as Hoseok, Yoongi, Jin and Jungkook. The only boys left behind. Lisa wore an oversized blazer and a very tulle-ish black skirt. Her bangs were out of her face. She had seen Jisoo wearing something like this once. Very Dior-ish. She was paying her homage. Jennie was wearing Chanel head to toe. With a side of remorse. Her puffy eyes covered with dark sunglasses and a veil. Occasionally wiping her eyes with a silk handkerchief. Wearing the wedding ring she had with Jisoo. Lisa was standing by Jennie, all along. But she slowly advanced towards Sierra, seeing how pale she looked. As if she will faint any moment now. She hugged Sierra, whispering,
"Sorry, Si. I am terribly sorry..."
"Do you think Jisoo-nnie's died blaming me for all of it?"
She found Sierra's voice rather ghostly. Monotonous and gray. It had no emotions whatsoever. Her body was covered in cold sweat.
It was only the girls here. The boys were by themselves. Lisa panicked, frantically calling for Jennie as her hands kept Sierra straight,
"Unnie! Si might faint any moment. Unnie!"
Jennie's eyes widened, she almost reached out. Before something in her clicked. A voice inside kept telling her that no one considered her as their own person. She was the only fool taht trusted. Lisa only saw her walkaway. She couldn't follow her. She didn't wanted to. She already has lost too much.
"Kim, wait!"
Yoongi's voice made her heart thaw. Tears rolled down her baby cheeks. But she had no intentions to stop. She shall not stop. Yoongi chased upon the love of his life. It was only him, her and this lonely alley outside the church.
His hands wrapped around her wrist. Tugging her carefully to not hurt her. He can't take another moment without Jennie.
"Jennie Ruby Jane Kim, I won't let you walk another footstep with that heavy grudge on your gentle heart. I am going to explain myself. Now."
She turned her head towards him in a snap. She knew there was no point in arguing anymore. He lied. That's all that she knows.
He gently held her hand, head down shoulders slumped. He tried chuckling,
"Kim, I know I lied and I hid stuff. But I had to for our sake. My parents had me do it in exchange for your name to be cleared off of Namjoon's case..."
"How do I know if you are lying or not?"
"How did you know it before?"
Jennie saw the plea in his eyes. For a second she wanted to trust him all over again. For a second, she remembered she loves him.
Hoseok's mother was great at cooking. And that's all they needed right now. A good enough distraction. Taehyung held Sierra's hand under the table, Jungkook seemed as pale and ghostly as possible and Lisa. Lisa looked as if she hadn't eaten a proper meal for days. Hoseok brought all of them to his house so that he could hide from his own heart. He had lost a piece of it. He even brought Jin, cause he knows what he might feel. Yoongi and Jennie bailed as they had some stuff to discuss. He let them, as all that lead to this was the lack of communication. Jin didn't tell the reason he testified. Namjoon didn't tell anyone that he will hand himself over. Jisoo didn't tell anyone before running away. Rosé didn't tell anyone what was hurting her. Jimin didn't tell anyone what was scaring him.
Taehyung separated a perilla leaf for her, squeezing her hand gently, he whispered,
"Juliette, you have to eat."
It stub Lisa. Just like how a thorn stubs. What was it with her heart? What does it want? She cheated on Jungkook with Yoon-o, and now she wants Jungkook? How will she ever break Yoon-o's heart? What will she say? "I figured that my ex is my soulmate so I'll be dumping you."? How heartless would the magic make her? If Yoon-o wasn't the one, why did he make her happy? If Jungkook was the one why were there so many issues?
She tried separating one perilla leaf for Jungkook, but he was faster. Always. Their chopsticks clanked against each other and he let go, his head was lower all along, he nodded,
"Take it. I don't want it anymore."
"But you used to die for it..."
"Used to, Lalisa. Not anymore. Someone else already chose it, so I don't want it anymore."
The tension could be cut using a knife. Jin choked on his rice, drawing attention to himself, thankfully. Sierra passed him a galss of water,
"Here, Oppa."
His eyes glistened. Sierra didn't know whether it was from the near death experience or by her words. All she knew was, he was touched. Taehyung chowed on his food, eyes fixed on his plate,
"Yah, Hyung. Slowly."
His eyes shifted from Sierra to Taehyung. His cheeks went up as he whimpered,
"Thanks."
And that's all the conversation they had. Hoseok's mother was happy, as they ate all that was given to them. Hoseok was happy atleast they talked.
After the meal, Lisa was ready to leave. With her coat on and hair in a bun, she side hugged Sierra,
"Si, I'll be going back to Thailand for a while. You know to clear my head a bit. I'll be staying at my Aunt's. I need to get away for a few days."
Sierra hugged her back,
"Stay safe."
