Um well I went feral and wrote NINE chapters in the span of a week, all of which with a length that would've been considered long for the first two-thirds of this story, and set up a crazy plot for a sequel... after barely writing five chapters in a year.
I never said updates would be consistent... And this arc is a tragedy, so buckle your seat belts and prepare for some tears soon.

When Officer Jenny's forces saw the signal, they were prepared to storm the base, take out Team Rocket, and save the hostages. What they didn't expect, however, was a beacon so bright that it put the sun itself to shame to literally burst out of the building, vaporizing half the roof and nearly blinding the squad.
When they went inside, there were shockingly still hundreds of living creatures, human and Pokemon alike, alive and unharmed. A group of four teenagers and their younger friend let down an odd, transparent force field when they noticed help had arrived, waving them over.
In the coming hours, the many fallen grunts of Team Rocket were escorted out, many of whom were arrested and carted away. Others first had to have their wounds checked out. The administrators of the organization were also taken into custody, their Pokemon suspended and put away in their Pokeballs.
As for the Pokemon School students, Pokemon, and other heroes, they were all brought out and treated with the highest level of care. Moon Oak-Ketchum, James, and his Meowth were all nearly arrested, but the others ensured the police that they were no longer affiliated with Team Rocket and had helped Luna and the others. A multitude of wild and seriously hurt Pokemon were also recorded and brought alongside their human and trainer-owned compadres, though some were less cooperative than others- luckily, it seemed that the five, oddly-familiar teens with blue eyes were able to calm them down.
Aurora Oak and Evangeline Fox were some of the last to leave, ensuring that all of their children and Pokemon were taken to ambulances and given proper care. Officer Jenny herself was giving her statement on all the events that transpired inside, including the miraculous final move that put Team Rocket's leader, Giovanni, out of commission for good.
Said boss was incapacitated and severely wounded, body covered in horrendous burns and face mangled beyond repair.
"And it was all because of them," Officer Jenny said sadly, pointing to the limp forms of Luna and Lunalox still lying motionlessly on the floor. "They saved all of us."
Even with the EMTs doing their best to quickly escort the pair away and bring them to the hospital, neither Luna nor Lunalox woke up. They had sustained life-threatening internal and external wounds alike, and spent more energy than they could ever safely withstand in a final, all-out move to rescue their friends. It took the work of many doctors, nurses, multiple blood transfusions, emergency surgery, and multiple pieces of machinery just to ensure their hearts kept beating, but no one was sure that the girl and her partner Pokemon would even survive the next 24 hours.
