The day Luna and Lunalox died, the world mourned.

Her family opted for a quiet, painless end to the suffering they would all sustain if they continued to hold out hope. In spite of the doctors' best efforts, there was nothing they could do.

Machines unplugged, and the sound of the flatline cemented the truth in everyone's minds:

Two heroes were gone.

Countless lives were hit by the news, but the first reaction was shock.

Aurora and Evangeline were unable to move or process the information at first, even though they had made the final decision. Cloudy stood as still as a statue as the tears began to fall. Moon couldn't believe her ears, realizing with a jolt that it was partially her fault that her own twin was dead.

The Eeveelutions, many still recovering from their own wounds, were distraught. Midnight quite literally fought the news tooth and nail when she heard, trying desperately to get a glimpse of her sister and trainer, along with their hatchling friend, hiding for the big reveal at the end of the cruel prank. Raven dropped to the ground without a word. Henri quickly descended into hyperventilating sobs. Snow Queen, Torch, and Poseidon all shed silent tears for hours after the news was spread. Thunderclap buried himself under blankets and sheets, shocking anyone who came near as he cried. Amber couldn't stop trying to remember the good times with Elise, just for them both to succumb to their own tears.

The rest of Luna's team took the news just as bad. They all had had deep personal connections with her during their years of travel, and didn't know what to do with themselves now that she was gone. The loss of Lunalox hurt no less; she was the youngest member of the team, yet she perished saving them all. Salem especially felt awful, wishing she could've done more to help the girl that she had saved so many years ago.

Ash and the rest of the Pokemon School class felt that the news was coming, but couldn't have predicted how deeply it hurt them that she was gone. Luna had joined their class later than anyone else- minus her sister, of course- but breathed so much life into the lessons, spreading her wisdom and giving insight and advice to anyone who needed it. She was kind, loving, loyal, righteous, and talented, and the classroom felt empty without her jolly presence and enthusiastic team beside her. Lillie and Snowy were some of the hardest hit, seeing as they had become trainers because of Luna and Lunalox. Kiawe was at Cloudy's side through much of the ordeal, and had to admit that Luna had earned his respect tenfold despite all of the things he had said not long after her arrival.

Shane had been the one to gift Luna her Z-Ring/Z-Power Ring and Z-Crystals, having recognized her potential. He never thought that she would lose her life in a sacrifice to save everyone from Team Rocket's evil grasp, and yet her recognized how much she would've wanted them to continue on without her sacrifice being in vain. Mystic and Taiyo hadn't really known Luna, but seen firsthand the impact she had on people. Her light being lost to the world was a terrible tragedy, and they mourned for her alongside Calypso and Kaito, vowing to do as much as they could to help other human-Pokemon hybrids like themselves.
