Luna and Lunalox had taken to the skies as soon as they were out of the public eye. The wind whipped Luna's hair around, but she didn't mind. It was refreshing.

Lunalox seemed to be enjoying herself as well, paws extended as her large, powerful wings beat the air around them. The two flew as one, sweeping in and out and around clouds, performing flips, ascending and descending as if they had been born with the power of the wind.

"Isn't this amazing? I'm having a blast!" Luna cried to her partner Pokemon, who chirped in response.

Suddenly, another figure appeared in the open sky, then another, and suddenly there were multiple, with more on their backs.

At first, Luna played them off as being faraway planes or tricks of the light, but even she couldn't deny their existence as they got closer. But instead of fear, she felt a heart-wrenching, bittersweet churning in her stomach.

"Gust? Blaze? Is that... everyone?" Luna gasped. She took Lunalox in her arms and flew towards them, confirming her suspicions. "Oh my Arceus, it really is you!"

The closest to them, which Luna soon recognized as a Salamence, slowed to a stop, two Pokemon on his large back. One was a Greninja with black skin and a red tongue wrapped around his neck like a scarf, while the other was a Blaziken.

Beside them was a black Charizard who carried a blue, white, and orange Gardevoir and a Tyranitar. Finally, a small pink Pokemon was levitating beside them, and a Houndoom with a cracked horn was enveloped in pink aura beside it.

"{Let's land before the waterworks start, okay?}" The Salamence, Gust, instructed, so Luna lead them down until she arrived in front of her house, the others doing the same. She pointed them in the direction of the field she and her Eeveelution siblings had trained in beforehand.

"I'll be right back, let me tell the others you're here," she exhaled, running up the porch taking the stairs two at a time and banging her hands on the door. "Hey, everybody, they're here."

Soon after, Cloudy opened the door and let the Eeveelutions out, closing it an running to the field as well. With a tired laugh, Luna set Lunalox down and the two flew after them.

"Welcome back, everyone," she smiled, seeing all of her Pokemon in one place. "Gust, Nightshade, Blitz, Blaze, Gleam, Tyrant, Salem, Vice. I'm so glad you're home."

The Salamence, shiny Greninja, Blaziken, shiny Charizard, shiny Gardevoir, Tyranitar, Mew, and Houndoom bowed. "{It's wonderful to be reunited after so long,}" Gleam murmured.

"{That it is,}" Nightshade agreed, standing up tall and fixing his tongue scarf. Vice nodded as well, looking over Luna and her siblings, noticing their growth.

Salem, the Mew, the very same Mew that saved Luna all those years ago, levitated over and nuzzled the girl. "{You must tell us everything! How have you been, what things have been like, what you've been up to while you've been away!}"

"{So! Amazing!}" The pink mythical exclaimed, doing a flip in midair. Though Luna technically hadn't caught the Pokemon, ever since Mew had saved her life, they had remained in touch, and she hadn't hesitated to visit Luna upon the girl's revealing of her temporary break from champion duties.

"That's the story of my Alola journey so far, and I hope you guys will tag along for some of my adventures!"

Midnight jumped onto her somewhat-human sister's shoulder. "{Luna, isn't it about time we meet up with James for brunch? As much as I don't want to see him, he was pleading for a chance to explain himself, and we did promise...}"

"Oh drat, you're right!" Luna muttered, pulling out her phone to send her first text in a long time to the indigo-haired young man. "How does, 'meet me at the meadow in half an hour, bring food and I'll do the same' sound?"

"{It's really generous for you to give him a second chance after everything that happened, I hope you two can come to an understanding,}" Blitz intoned respectfully. "{Where will you be getting the food from, might I ask?}"

Luna lifted Lunalox into her arms and spread her wings, Midnight still on her shoulders. "There's a malasada shop, and from what some locals have said they're to die for, and not too expensive."

"{Not that money is much of a problem, seeing as you received quite the hefty payment each month from the Pokemon League for being the reining champion,}" Nightshade reminded her. "{Over the course of a few years, too.}"

The brunette tipped her imaginary hat. "Well, it's been lovely seeing you here, and you know where the house is! Brothers, sisters, please make sure they're at home while we're away, say hello to mom for me as well! Toodles!~"

"BRING ME BACK A SWEET MALASADA!" Cloudy's voice carried as the winged girl lifted off the ground and headed toward the city. It only took a few minutes of flying before she began her descent, landing smoothly on the orange roof. Luna hopped down, letting her two Pokemon down to walk beside her as she stepped in, bell jingling as she opened the door.

She modestly walked up to the counter, admiring the cozy and warm cafe-like atmosphere. "Pardon me?" Luna quietly caught the attention of the employees. "Can I please have three sweet malasadas with Mago, Pecha and Watmel berry filling, one dry malasada with Wiki and Kelpsy berry filling, one sour malasada with Belue and Colbur berry filling, a lemonade and a Roserade Tea?"

The woman at the counter tapped her computer screen, imputing the order and nodding promptly. After a few minutes of waiting with her two Pokemon, Luna was given her order. She paid with a smile, walking out with her carry-out container in hand.

As crowded as the city outside had become thanks to the bustle of everyday work, Luna spread her wings and took off, Lunalox doing the same with Midnight in the hatchling's solid grip.
