That morning, most of Luna's Eeveelution family opted to stay home, not wanting to distract her studies further than they already had. Besides, they deserved to be free while she sat at a desk for hours a day. Only Midnight and Torch came with her, thus taking up a lot less space in the classroom.

The Professor was surprised to see only two Pokemon walk in alongside the winged girl, but allowed her to pick up her egg and go to her desk without any questions. Luna spent a few minutes observing it, checking to see if it moved or if she could pinpoint what kind of Pokemon was inside.

Once every filed inside and made some small talk, Kukui cleared his throat. "I know our lesson was interrupted by the Island Guardian the other day, which lead to some very Mind-Blowing discoveries, and then the Principal's mandatory lecture on eggs for our project prevented us from making up that lesson yesterday. So today, class, we're going on a walk through the forest to find and record data on some native Alolan Pokemon!"

The class cheered, excited at the prospect of finding species of Pokemon they had never encountered before. Ash beamed, unzipping his bag to reveal a Pokemon that flew out of it. It seemed to be a Pokedex, but the face on it was undeniably a Pokemon. "Is that a Rotom in a Pokedex!? So! Cool!!" Luna exclaimed, standing up to get a better look at it.

The Rotom Pokedex looked surprised at her reaction, and soon became puzzled at her appearance. "Indeed, I am Rotom Dex! You're not a Pokemon, yet you have the wings, ears, and tail of one, though. Why is that?"

Luna took a minute to give him a short'n'sweet version of what had happened to give her the appearance she had, to which the Pokemon immediately became excited.

"I've never heard of humans and Pokemon forming such a strong bond through all types of temporary, in-battle power techniques at once before! This truly is a massive scientific discovery! It'll be an honor adventuring with you today!"

"And to you, Rotom!" Luna exclaimed, patting the floating Pokedex-inhabiting Pokemon.

"You seemed to immediately recognize it as a Rotom, and know a bit about them. I thought they were rare and elusive, not being present in many other regions...," Lillie commented, trying to stay at least five feet from the Pokemon. Gripping the cold egg closer to her, she curled up in her seat.

Luna let go of Rotom, allowing it to fly around and collect data on Midnight and Torch. "Yeah, usually they are, but back in the Sinnoh region, the Eterna City Gym Leader called me over about a supposedly haunted mansion. It turned out it was just a mischievous Rotom playing some harmless jokes on them!" She explained, fondly remembering how scared Gardenia had seemed of the place.

"Anyways, like the Professor said, we have a lesson to make up! We should get going so we can maximize our chances of seeing many species of wild Pokemon!" Rotom Dex chided, floating over beside the door. When Lillie and Luna looked at one another with confusion about what to do with their eggs, both it and the Professor came to the rescue.
