Before she knew it, Friday was over and Saturday passed in a blur of practicing her moves and working with Lunalox's current ones. By the time she woke up Sunday morning, knowing her conference was hardly a few hours away, the gentle panic filled her stomach.
Luna was very much a social person, and she loved how many great people she had met along the way of becoming champion. But addressing everyone in one go to tell them she was taking a break from fame to enjoy her friends and family in Alola?
That was the next level of dealing with people. Everyone's eyes would be on her, from reporters there to all the people watching it on the news from home, people in every region: many people who looked up at her and the few that looked down at her- everyone would be staring right into her heart.
So she spent the whole morning working on her speech. Thankfully, her brothers and sisters were more than happy to help her, since they'd be making an appearance and also had a case of jitters.
With a lot of debating, they decided Lunalox would also be able to come, alongside Cloudy, their mother, and Ash (who had called about it and wanted to come). Raven had spent the past two days pacing with a stressed look on her face, but she seemed better.
"Good luck, darling, we'll be in the front row cheering you on," Luna's mom told her as the brunette was about to leave. "No matter what they say, you deserve to live a normal life, too, Luna dear. The people will always love you."
"Thanks mum, see ya soon!" Luna exclaimed as she left with her Pokemon siblings and Lunalox beside her. She had dressed up, wearing a silver and blue sundress with her hair tied up in a stylish bun and her face covered in makeup that accented her features even more. Her mom had suggested wearing comfortable shoes, but she was determined to look her best, so she had forced herself to put on especially tall heeled sandals.
Pulling out her phone, she dialed the number of her old friends, and a few moments later, one picked up. "There's my girl! Luna, how's it going? On your way to our makeshift studio?"
"I just left the house, Dex, my sibs and I are doing fine, but neither you nor Sina actually sent me the address...," Luna replied.
The blond boy laughed over the phone. "Right, sorry. We were caught up, it's in Hau'oli City, the big building with the cameras outside it, second floor. Can't miss it. We'll be waiting in the lobby for you."
"Sounds great. We'll be there in ten minutes, I assume you've got the press hoarded around already? And the stand set up?"
"We're always prepared, Lu. Don't worry, everyone will be there cheering your message on. The people all over the world look up to you, and seeing you up there, talking about your life and your family... it'll spark some humanity in their hearts! Don't stress! Toodles!"
