Everyone slowly turned their heads toward the sound. Torch had the egg still nested in his tail, but Luna picked it up gently and set it on the desk where Vulpix had hatched.

The starred surface was cut in half by a crack, and was glowing so much you could hardly see the color and pattern, anyway. The shell cracked again.

"Quickilicky everyone! Gather a-houndour for the other ex-egg-utor to finally hatch!" Samson Oak said, making Pokemon puns even in an important moment like such.

Everyone gasped, Rotom Dex readying his camera. Luna was practically shaking from the anticipation.

The eggshell pieces exploded, disappearing into the air as the Pokemon revealed.

It had purple and blue fur dotted with stars, and long, fluffy ears that looked like a cross between a diamond and a triangle. Its tail was large and puffy, with some silver strands of fur making it seem like the moon's glow in the dead of night. On each side of its face hung two, minuscule amber spheres at the ends of thin lines of its fur. It had a fox-like snout, with bright blue eyes.

The Pokemon shakily stood up and looked around, unfurling its tail and... its defining feature was its wings. Once fully extended, they were like the night sky, fading from inky blackish purple to varying shades of blues and purples, speckled with stars. The wings ended in a scythe-shape golden crescent each, which glittered in the light.

"Luuu?" It cooed.

"What kind of Pokemon is that?" Ash asked, frozen by the breathtaking sight before him.

"I've never seen anything like-anroc it!" Oak said.

Rotom Dex took multiple pictures from different angles. "It's not registered in the Pokedex! It's a brand new species of Pokemon, never before seen or heard of!"

"It's beautiful!" Mallow exclaimed.

Luna slowly approached it, holding out her hand. "My name is Luna, my siblings and I have been taking care of your egg! What kind of Pokemon are you, little one?"

It stared at her for a moment before sniffing her hand. Then, it smiled, walking up to her and nuzzling her chest. "Luu!"

Just then, Cloudy seemed to have a revelation. Either that, or she was the second coming of Buddha and she just became enlightened. "Lu-Luna...," she choked out.

Her sister looked up at her. "What is it, Cloudy?"

The younger girl looked up at her with a mixture of confusion, shock, and realization on her face. "Shift into your Pokemon form."

"Uh, okay?" Luna did so, hopping up beside the newly-hatched Pokemon. Around her, everyone gasped. "What!?"

Lillie just trembled and held up a pocket mirror. Though it was shaking hard thanks to Lillie's hand, Luna almost fell backwards off the desk.

"Luuu?" The Pokemon asked her.

Luna took a deep breath in, eyes wide and pupils tiny. It's okay. Everything is fine. But when she looked back up at the new Pokemon, she flinched, unable to unsee what she now realized.

In the mirror, she saw herself in Pokemon form, and the hatchling. Which would have been fine, had they not looked identical.

(A/N: Sorry Azelf, I know you aren't the biggest fan of fox-like Pokemon, but this little one has been on my mind for a while! Hopefully I'll do a drawing of her so you guys can visualize her soon!)
