Chapter 70.5- Beacon

Originally Taiyo and Mystic were only going to make a small appearance after they won the character contest, but at this point they've become integrated in the background lore.

 With everything going on regarding Lunalox and the spirit of Mama Eevee, the complex bonds between humans and Pokemon (especially with the addition of Mega Stones, Synchro Bonds, and Z-Moves connecting hearts, minds, and souls respectively), and the small but still noteworthy group of not-quite-human/not-quite-Pokemon across the world, a move with such shattering power it created a beacon to all types of powerful presences is probably the last thing Luna needed on top of it all. However, what we want is never always what we get, so for better or worse, Melemele will probably end up with more attention from a variety of sources...

Mystic was enjoying a Tapu Cocoa, sitting at the tables outside a Pokemon Center, when she felt it. An energy so powerful she nearly choked on the sip of her drink and had to slam the cup down to cover her mouth so she didn't accidentally spit it out everywhere.

There was light, so much light, and a power so agonizingly strong and familiar. Then, a stinging, all-encompassing pain jolted across her body before it all went still, as if nothing had happened.

The girl abruptly got up, drink abandoned, and walked away, needing to clear her head, needing the sea. Her long white hair blew in the breeze as she got closer to the ocean, the blue ends nearly smacking her in the face multiple times before she finally made it to the beach.

She usually was, but now felt even more, grateful that Poni Island was so widely uninhabited. Only Seafolk Village and a few small towns covered the entire area of the island, leaving much of it to be wilderness, wilds, or the canyon. Luckily, the lack of people meant she didn't have to escape far even in broad daylight before she could transform into Tapu Fini and sink into the sea.

The cool ocean water surrounded her, instantly soothing some of her nerves, but it couldn't get rid of all of them. Mystic shuddered.

That power, so much like that of Ultra Necrozma's during its time of wrath, and yet it carried the weight of a lost soul not ready to depart, and that of someone like me. Regardless, as Island Guardian, I would know that shared pain anywhere. That attack was targeted at Shane.

And he's smart enough to let himself not get attacked, which meant... he was probably battling one of those two trainers he took interest of on Melemele, seeing as people there worship him like a god. But out of the two of them, the girl... Luna... she was the one who found the mysterious new species and had the Pokemon-esque features.

This girl just discovered a power rivaling that of legends in a battle against our own Tapu Koko, and now... If I was so easily alerted to it, that must mean all the others legends felt it as clear as I did. For now that girl might be safe, but until the other legends come see for themselves what she is and make peace with her... there's going to be a lot of trouble in Alola.

She was a few dozen feet under the water, continuing forward even as her descent came to a stop. I must warn as many of them as I can that she isn't an inherent threat, and that us Alolan Guardians can handle it. At least Shane and I know. I'll have to get a message to Calypso and Kaito (A/N: These are Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, and Tapu Bulu, respectively, if you were wondering, courtesy of ELITUNES who owns them and Mystic's character! However, their account has since been deleted, so...) as soon as I can, and from there we might be able to contact the others. Solgaleo and Lunala, at least, who could Ultra Wormhole their way to the regions of other legendaries. I just hope we can do it before chaos follows suit...

A few years ago I never could have imagined that others like us would be out there. But now, after meeting Taiyo and witnessing this Luna girl... Maybe this shining light will act as a homing beacon for all the not-quite-human but still not-quite-Pokemon out there.
