Chapter 12- Pokemon and Humans

        Luna groaned as she woke up, rubbing her head before realizing instead of feeling the skin of her face, she felt fur. Shaking her head awake, she looked down at herself to see a brown-and-blue-furred, silver-starred body, with four legs ending in clawed paws.

        "WHAT HAPPENED TO ME!?" She screeched before hopping up, seeing two dangling strings of fur around her face. Slowly, she put a paw up to lift them to her eye, staring in shock at the gemstones attached to the ends of them. Something twitched on top of her head before she realized she had long, fluffy ears.

        Luna raced to the bathroom on all fours, bounding up on the counter to view herself in the mirror. She was a Pokemon! It almost looked like an Eeveelution, though not like any of the ones she had seen before. Besides, no Eeveelutions had wings or stars on their fur.

        She proceeded to panic, hopping around with wide eyes, trying to remember what happened. "Midnight and I just used her Z-Move, and then everything is fuzzy!"

        Then the door opened, and Midnight appeared in the doorway. "{There you are! I heard screaming so I suspected you woke up. Are you okay?}" The shiny Umbreon asked.

        "Wait, I can understand you! Like, really understand you, as if you're speaking English!" Luna exclaimed. She stared down at her paws in shock again before tackling her sister. "What happened to me!?"

        Coughing, Midnight pushed Luna back up onto her her feet. "{The Tapu can explain it. He's been waiting outside for a while, along with everyone else. They were real worried about you!}"

        Nodding, Luna padded out of the bathroom and toward the living room, stepping lightly onto the side porch. Sure enough, the Island Guardian was there, along with her Eeveelution family and her human mom. She could see the student's of Kukui's class across the street, looking around anxiously and whispering to themselves.

        Tapu Koko's head turned as he noticed Luna arrive, inviting her to speak with him privately.

        "Tapu Koko says he gave me the Z-Crystal because he saw the strong bond I had with Midnight and since we were already capable of Synchro-Mega Evolution, he believed if we fully connected, our combined power could be unrivaled! Because I was half-raised by Pokemon and came to understand and love them just as anyone would their human family, when Midnight and I fully connected, he says that's when I became my own Pokemon," Luna summarized for everyone else, including her schoolmates who Midnight had retrieved. "Now I can understand their speech, and Tapu Koko believes that I will be able to switch between my human and Pokemon form. When I'm a Pokemon, he said I should be able to use the moves of any Pokemon I Synchro-Mega Evolve with!"

        "This is probably the most bizarre, but also incredible things I've ever witnessed!" Lillie exclaimed, though she still looked uneasy at being surrounded by Pokemon.

        "And it's totally cool!" Ash added. "I always knew my little sister had a special bond with her Pokemon, but this is next level!"

        Grinning, Luna- still in Pokemon form- called out to her Pokefamily. "If I ever begin the Island challenge and collect more Z-Crystals, Tapu Koko said they'll be able to transform into Eeveelution-specific ones for my family! Anyway, class is over by now, I should think, so I'm going to go catch up with my brothers and sisters! See you soon, everyone!"

        She hopped out the door and down the front porch stairs, with the other Pokemon close behind her. "{Where are we going, dear?}" Raven asked, easily keeping pace with her as they jogged on all fours down the road.

        "First I want to see if I can change back into a human, and second, I'm finally able to have full conversations with you all! So much has happened so far, and I'd love to hear what you think of Alola!" Luna answered happily, wind rushing through her thick coat of fur. Though it was heavier than her normal clothes were on her human body, it didn't slow her down.

        They eventually found themselves on Big Wave Beach, where the Mantine Surf area was already closed up for the night. The place was deserted, and as the last bit of sunlight disappeared over the ocean, Luna looked to Raven, already knowing what would happen.

        Suddenly, the white Psychic-type's fur turned into a solid, inky black, and her golden eyes became a mystic purple. The milky gemstone on her forehead darkened to a glowing red. "Most people don't realize you only live up to your name at night!" Luna laughed, nuzzling her sister.

        "{Come on, show us how you can become a human again!}" Poseidon urged as he slid into the shallow, lapping Alola waves. With a mrow of amusement, she agreed.

        "Okay, okay. I don't know exactly how to though. Hmm..." Luna said, trying to figure out how to become a human again. Slowly, she envisioned herself in her human body; her brown hair, her arms and fingers and skin, her face, wearing clothes and standing up straight.

        When she opened her eyes again, she felt her fur disappear, instead being replaced by her skin and clothes. She was human again!

        Well, mostly human. As she stood up, she saw from the corner of her eye that her fluffy tail was still there, along with her long ears. When she reached to scratch her back, she felt her wings twitching. "Well, this is as close to perfect as we're gonna get!"

        "{This means I finally get to tell you how awesome it looked when you and Midnight used your special Z-Move!}" Henri exclaimed, clapping his brown paws together as he sat in the sand. "{Does it have a specific name?}"

        Looking to the shiny Umbreon-design Z-Crystal on her wrist, Luna nodded. "It's called Blue Ring Beatdown, specially utilizing the power of Midnight's and my bond with one another! I can't wait until we can take on the Trial Captains and Kahunas to collect others and unlock everyone's true potential!"

        "{It sounds pretty sweet!}" Amber exclaimed, batting her paws at the small tufts of grass peeking up from the sand. "{Now come on, we've got the whole night to talk and play! Let's have some fun!}"

        "You said it, sis. Who's up for a game of hide and seek!?"
