W-what is this!? Luna gawked at the small orb that appeared in her palm, no bigger than a pearl. Tapu Koko froze from his worked-up battle position to cock his head curiously at her.

The tiny object bore no design or decoration other than the base color (rose gold), yet it held a striking degree of power that she could sense. She held it up to the light, then brought it back down.

The Island Guardian approached her, the battle on pause for a moment. He reached out to tap the hand that held the stone, paused, and then tapped on her Z-Ring. Then, he tapped on her Key Stone choker, and finally, he pointed to Lunalox and tapped Luna's own ears.

"Do you mean to say... this item will allow me to use a special bond with Lunalox?" She questioned, hardly believing the words coming out of her own mouth. Just moments ago she was losing motivation and ideas for winning the battle, and now she was staring at a mythic gem.

Tapu Koko trilled, as if to say perhaps. Let's test it out. The Electric- and Fairy-Type then flew back to his original spot on the battlefield, looking at her expectantly.

"Okay..." She looked over to Lunalox. "Alright girl, let's just focus on winning this battle, mkay? Anything that happens, any changes that occur, let them happen. Don't be afraid. Let's just work together to defeat Tapu Koko."

"{Let's do it! Yeah!}"

Luna deftly removed her Forbidium/Darkinium Z out for the new, tiny sphere, watching as it was placed inside the Z-Ring's holder that it began to transform. The shining black face of the cuff bracelet remained the same, but the diamond-shaped indenture in the center began to grow from both ends. The pearl-like orb also changed, gaining a transparent, almost glass-like diamond crystal shell around it, except with the pointy bits on either end.

"Lu, use Powder Snow!" She called, albeit a little distracted by the object's transformation. I think I'll call it... the Sunset Sphere. But why did it make this strange-shaped Z-Crystal?

Kukui, unbeknownst to Luna until that moment, had weaved his way around the crowd to get a closer look. "Wow, Luna! Your Z-Ring turned into a Z-Power Ring, which can use more types of Z-Crystals than a plain Z-Ring!" He informed her.

"A Z-Power Ring... I'll save this for later. First, Lunalox and I have to get fired up until our hearts beat as one! I hope all the trial and error it took to be able to Synchro-Mega with my sibs and other teammates will come in handy."

Once Lunalox had to stop exhaling the subzero attack to regain her breath, Tapu Koko popped out of his protective shell and began to fly toward her.

"Oh no you don't! Don't even think about landing a Steel Wing! Lu, use Air Slash to blow him off course, then use Bite!"

The speeding Tapu was blown to the side by the Air Slash, not getting caught by the Bite thanks to flying away in time but still getting a small gash from Lunalox's teeth grazing him. He then used Discharge.
