I sobbed and wiped my eyes, there was no point in sitting here crying. The tears wouldn't open the door or charge the phone. But it felt so hopeless. If Dylan didn't come home tonight, i would have to wait until mom finished work. It could mean i would have to sit out here freezing for hours.
"Bloody hell!" i muttered, putting my face in my hands again. What could i do my feet hurt so damn much i probably wouldn't even be able to stand up so trying to walk anywhere was no use.
"How long do you intend to sit there?"
Even though my whole body was completely frozen, my blood froze to ice as i quickly looked up with my heart in the pit of my throat.
"Are you really stupid? Why are you scaring like that, i mean, how long have you been standing there anyway?" i gasped as Thomas took slow steps along the entrance hall.
"Long enough, so what are you doing out here?" he asked, sitting down on the bottom step of the porch.
"What does it look like? The question is, what are you doing here?"
"Come on now, it's cold outside and yes, you don't have any clothes on" he said amused and laughed when i just shook my head. It was anything but fun!
"You don't mean that? Yes, it's cold because i barely have any clothes on and yes, i'm sitting here because i'm locked out. Satisfied?"
"Locked out? It was like hell" he muttered not nearly as amused and leaned back against the fence post.
How could he look so relaxed? or the bigger question was, what the hell was he doing here? had he really followed me all the way home? i mean why would he have done that? he had a party at his house so-
"Now you look so pensive, what are you thinking?" he interrupted my thoughts and raised his eyebrows questioningly as i met his gaze.
"Why are you here Thomas?"
He gave me a long look before looking out onto the street. Okay?
"No bloody idea" he muttered glancing up at me so i couldn't help but laugh.
"No? i can't invite you, unfortunately, although i still wouldn't have done that even if the door had been open," i said with a laugh.
"Y/n, Y/n, Y/n. Now who's playing with who? Do you really think so badly of me." he asked so seriously that my laughter died away.
"I don't like you because i don't care enough to like you."
"Ouch, thanks for that one" he said and laughed.
"Come on, we know where we are Thomas. We annoy and bother each other, it's always been like that since we were kids."
"Do we know? Do you really think it's always been that way?"
I felt my pulse increase, this was not the usual Thomas. Or was it them? did he just want to provoke me or was he actually serious? that was the thing with Thomas you never knew, you never knew if he was serious or if it was all just a sick contrivance to humiliate me.
"Y/n?"
"What?" i said, blinking a few times to find focus, i was lost in thought.
"Do we really know where we are?"
"Um, yes?"
"I don't think so, i don't know what you really think of me but-"
"What are you doing anyway?" i interrupted skeptically.
"I don't know, but there's something about you that..."
"Like what?"
"Which means i can't let you go."
I frowned, he couldn't be serious, could he? one, he never had me so it would be more than illogical that he couldn't let me go. Two, what does he want to get out of telling me all this?
"Stop it now, i see through your bullshit" i said but heard my voice tremble.
"There it is again, there's probably no one who doesn't talk like that, except you."
"Umm, did you just admit it was all bullshit?" i said raising my eyebrows.
"No, but that's what keeps me from letting you go. You are not like anyone else i know. So far, chicks have dropped their panties as soon as they got a smile but you don't, you just get pissed off."
Even though i almost shook my teeth from the cold, i burst out laughing.
"Please, do you hear how stupid that sounds? Seriously?" i continued laughing.
"Isn't that so?" he mumbled with an amused grin on his face.
"I don't buy into your bullshit because it's so obvious that you just want to fuck. Anyone who doesn't see that must be blind i guess because it's kind of stamped on their foreheads 'my name is Thomas and i just want to fuck, are you on?" i continued and then it was Thomas's turn to burst out laughing.
"Where do you get everything from?"
"You make it easy for me," i muttered, gasping for air as he stood up and took the last few steps in one go.
"Aren't you freezing?" he asked, sitting down beside me.
Yes, i was freezing, my whole body was ice cold but the blood was pumping so hard it felt like it was burning inside.
"It's pretty obvious it's cold" i whispered but didn't dare turn my gaze up to meet his.
"Do you want me to warm up?"
On the other hand, it made me quickly look up at him and raise my eyebrows questioningly.
"Come on, why do you always think the worst about me? You are ice cold and i'm hot, let me warm you up."
Despite all the warning signs echoing in my head, i moved closer to him.
"Pur your legs up in my lap."
"Thomas-"
"Stop fighting now, i'm just going to warm you" he said and grabbed my legs and lifted them over his lap.
He was right, he was really warm and yes, it was really nice when he messed around and hugged my legs, with gentle hands he stroked up and down to get the circulation going.
"Thanks" i whispered leaning into his shoulder.
I closed my eyes and enjoyed the warmth he gave, it didn't matter that it was Thomas who gave it to me. Not freezing was the most important thing and his warmth made his eyes feel increasingly heavy.
"Anything for you" he whispered and that was the last thing i heard before i fell asleep in his arms.
