How the hell could my hair freeze to ice during like a two minute short walk? well, because you insisted on going outside in freezing temperatures with dripping wet hair, i thought, shivering as i hurried back into the school.
PE was the last class of the day so i didn't think or didn't care that i would need to dry my hair before going out. So, i have myself to blame.
My hair melted as fast as it froze as i walked over to my locker. I had survived monday with mixed results, i stated as i turned the code lock to the cabinet. It could have been a worse monday, sure, but it might also have been a much better monday, i thought, taking out my bag.
"Second time today that you have tried to avoide me."
Thomas's voice made me jump so i dropped my bag on the floor. Oh my god, i thought, feeling my pulse racing in my chest. I slowly turned around and raised my eyebrows questioningly.
"You have a thing for always scaring me" i said with a relieved sigh and leaned against the cabinet.
"Maybe, or you are just thoughtful, you are often in your own little world" Thomas said with a smile and put his hands on either side of my head.
"My own little world you say" i mumbled and shifted my gaze between his eyes and lips.
"Yeah, so what were you thinking about this time" he mumbled and leaned forward so i was pushed up against the cupboard.
"Nothing special" i whispered and heard myself how breathless my voice sounded.
Sure, we just had PE but this time it was only thanks to Thomas that my voice sounded so strained. He teasingly brushed his lips against mine before continuing to kiss my cheek and down my neck. I really had to bite my lips to keep from moaning out loud when he nibbled lightly on my earlobe.
"Was that something you were fantasizing about?" he whispered, continuing up to my mouth again.
"Maybe."
No, that wasn't what i had in mind at all, but honestly, thinking about Thomas and him kissing felt a million times better than me having a crappy day.
When he found my lips again he kissed me so i wrapped my arms around his waist and pulled him closer to me. Apparently too hard because it rattled the cupboards so i couldn't help to laugh against his mouth.
"Are you going home right away?" he asked before kissing me again.
"Mhmm" i hummed, not quite sure what i was responding to, my thoughts were once again somewhere else.
"Can i come with you?" he mumbled so i stopped and met his gaze.
"Um, i guess so" i replied and i felt my stomach flutter.
This was something completely different from the ski trip. It suddenly felt so real. I wasn't stupider than that i of course understood that me and Thomas were together for real but this, kissing in the school corridor and that he should follow me home. I don't know, it just felt so different.
He bent down and picked up my bag. I couldn't stop smiling so i took it from him and shook my head slightly. It was almost ridiculous to feel this happy.
"Will dylan be home?" Thomas asked when we got out into the cold again.
"I don't think so, Brooke said they were going to her house, i guess he's staying there."
"Okay, and your mom?" he continued so i glanced at him and laughed, no one could have missed the grin playing on his lips.
"I don't know, i think she works nights this week" i muttered as he took his hand in mine.
