"So, are you all ready to fix the ski equipment?" Jake asked.

"I'm really looking forward to getting out on the slopes, i haven't skied since the last time we were here but hopefully i'm a bit better now" Brooke said with a laugh.

"Last time you didn't have a master to help you" Jake said flirtatiously winking at her with a big smile on his face.

"I really don't know anything about skiing, can you help me Thomas?" Kylie asked, smiling at Thomas before giving me a challenging look. What the hell was she doing? was she really trying to make me jealous? good luck, i don't care.

"Sure cutie" replied Thomas and i just had time to see how he winked flirtatiously at her with that smile on his face that only he had.

Okay, that really stung, i thought, clearing my throat quietly. Bloody hell, i hated that i felt such jealousy.

"Anyone who needs my help then? Y/n?" Jake asked, chuckling as i met his smirk.

"I don't need help" i said sourly, partly because i absolutely do not want Jake's help and partly because i really needed help. But surely there should be someone there who could help me? i thought, reaching for my jacket.

Just as i was about to insert one arm, Thomas got up so i happened to touch him. Nothing special or more than a second but just that little contact made my pulse race. Probably because i was pissed off. If he wanted to help Kylie sure, and if he wanted to fuck her, that was his choice. I wouldn't stand in the way.

We made it out without any complications but i walked purposefully next to Brooke, all to avoid seeing Kylie clinging to Thomas. Didn't she understand that he didn't like being picked on? but why did i care? if she wanted to clingy, go ahead.

Just when it felt like the knot in my stomach was going to explode, we arrived at the rental. Finally something else to focus on, i thought as we entered.

Well, i really have something else to think about because it was a big room with more skis than i ever seen stacked up in several aisles. There were also boards, helmets, boots, you could probably find just about anything in here when it came to mountain activity.

I couldn't avoid it, no matter how hard i tried, i heard Kylie's stupid giggles echoing in the room. Seriously, if Thomas fell for that giggle, he wasn't the guy i'm starting to think i knew. I shook my head and ran a finger along some shiny skis, they looked brand new, i thought and tilted my head a little. I really tried to think of something other than-

"What can i help you with?"

I jerked my hand away, as if i had been completely caught red-handed touching something with the sign, must not be touched. My cheeks burned as i slowly turned around. The embarrassed blush was replaced by a gasp that i tried to cover with a cough. In front of me stood a young guy, he couldn't be many years over twenty, twenty-five at the most, smiling with a cute smile. I probably should have changed my clothes anyway and at least brushed my hair, i thought, swallowing nervously before trying to smile back.

"Um, i need to rent skis" i said and looked away, he was insanely handsome and way too charming for his own good.

"Yes then you've come to the right place, my name is Ace" he said and i could hear a break in his voice.
