My enemy since childhood

Chapter 83

Sipping on the hot coffee, i leaned back in the armchair and looked out the window. It was still quite dark outside but the headlights from the big hill lit up the whole mountain. Wondering if anyone was really out riding this early in the morning?

It was nice to sit alone in silence. Not having to be social or care about anyone else. But i missed Thomas, how was that even possible. I had met him about an hour ago. But yes, i missed him.

While i sat lost in my thoughts, i heard my phone ring. Finally! sure, it was nice to be alone for a while but now i just wanted to pack up and go home.

Brooke 7:09 p.m
Awake, are you in the cabin.

Y/n 7:09 p.m
Nope, sitting in the restaurant drinking coffee.

Brooke 7:10 p.m
What? Is Thomas with you?

No, he's asleep.

Yeah.

Has something happened?

No but come up when you can.

I let out a small sigh, hopefully Brooke would come alone. I really wanted to talk to her without my brother hearing everything we said. The situation between me and my brother was probably as difficult as it was. If Brooke and i were going to talk about Thomas, well, then it would probably be best if Dylan wasn't around.

While i waited for Brooke, she wasn't a morning person so it could take time, i went to get fresh coffee and a sandwich. When i sat down in my armchair again, i saw someone in the corner of my eye who reminded me of Brooke, but it couldn't be her, it had only been like five minutes.

I turned my gaze towards the person and frowned. I'm suprised, it was Brooke who was walking towards me with quick steps. I couldn't help but laugh, her hair was one big crow's nest and surely she had her shirt inside out? yup she had, i stated, shaking my head as she sat down in the armchair across from me.

"I came as fast as i could" she said, panting as if she had run a marathon.

"Yeah, i can see that" i muttered, lips around the rim of the cup but couldn't help but smile.

"So, what's going on? Why are you sitting here all alone?" she asked, reaching for my sandwich.

"Well, it wasn't very fun yesterday so i got to bed before everyone else but then i woke up around five because Thomas was drunk. After that it was over, he wanted to sleep with me in one of the single beds....yeah, you can guess the rest" i said with a laugh.

"Didn't you push the beds together? And why the hell was he drunk? We are leaving in about an hour."

"I thought so too but yeah it didn't turn out that way. I think he, Jake and Will emptied the liquor bottles that were left after the party. Don't ask me why."

"Were Kylie and Lizzy at that impromptu party?"

"No idea, maybe. But it was quiet when i left, everyone had probably fallen asleep just like Thomas."
