With Thomas arm around my shoulders we walked into the cafeteria. Why had he said that? that he couldn't stop thinking about me? maybe it was just like Brooke had said, that he was playing with me the way i intended to play with him. He had never cared about me before, never, so why would he now?

For the same reason as for me, it was a game, i thought, taking a deep breath. I don't care about Thomas and never have. Until now. Although there was a difference, i wasn't going to play with him to try to get him interested in me, quite the opposite.

I looked around until my eyes landed on Brooke who raised her eyebrows slightly amused from her place in line. What should i do? either let him keep the arm as per my plan or i shook it off and went back to how it was before.

"Weren't you going to buy coffee or something?" Thomas asked, looking down at me and only then did i realize we had stopped.

"Uh yeah" i said quickly and twisted to get out of his grip.

"Y/n" he said as i took a few steps away from him so i quickly turned around with a questioning look.

"Yes?"

He took the short steps between us and closed the distance so quickly that i was gasping for air. Why did he do that? walked like he owned the place? I felt very dry in my mouth.

"Meet me after school" he whispered and winked at me. I couldn't help but laugh. Joke or not but what the hell did he think of me?

"I wouldn't think so" i answered shortly and turned my gaze towards the gender again as my cheeks heated up.

"Come on, i know you want to" he continued and ran one finger along my arm so i looked up questioningly at him again.

"You know that my brother would kill you if he heard you right now."

"Ha! He can always try" he said with a grin on his face.

"Meet me, i want to talk to you about something" he continued quietly and with his head tilted a little and sought my gaze.

"Talk? Please, don't you think i know you and know what you mean by talk?"

"No, i don't think so" he answered in all seriousness and i felt goosebumps spreading along my arm, the arm he was still caressing. Or caressed and caressed, as he fingered.

"Thomas..."

"Meet me at the football field, you won't regret it."

"I would most certainly do that, so no, we will see you later" i answered shortly and pulled my arm.

"I will wait there for you."

"Then you're going to wait a long time" i said walking over to Brooke.

Never that i would meet him after school. Never. Though the curiosity inside me made my stomach tingle. What could he want from me? talk? come on, i never heard anything about Thomas liking to talk so what did he really want? after all, there was only one way to find out and that was to actually meet him, which i wasn't going to.

I sighed and stood next to Brooke just in time to order. When the mug with the steaming hot coffee was safely in my hand, we went out to the schoolyard. It was still warm in the air even though the leaves had started to change color.

"So what did Thomas want?" she asked when we had sat down on one of the benches.

"Talk" i muttered blowing on the coffee before taking a sip.

"Ha! Sure, tell me now, what did he want?"

"He wanted to talk."

"Talk? Talk about what?"

"No idea. He wanted me to meet him after school."

"Seriously? So you are going to meet him?"

"Uh no!"

"I don't understand, you are not going to meet him but you are still going to get him interested in you?"

"He won't be interested in me, i have said that a hundred times! So no, i won't meet him, i know people like him and it's not talking he wants," i said frustrated and leaned back against the backrest.

"I think you are judging him a little too harshly, you don't actually know him and what if he actually just wants to talk."

"What would someone like Thomas want to talk about? Whose side are you on?"

"Right now? Nobody's. You are my best friend but what you're doing, i don't like it. I don't think it's fair to either you or Thomas."

I caught my breath and sighed. Was she right was i blinded by my own thought of teasing with thomas that i had lost perspective on it all? perhaps.

"So what do you really think, should i meet him?"

"I didn't say that but if it's like that, i'm telling you if you actually have some feelings for him then why not meet him?But if it's like you say you don't want him then i think you should hang up your project of teasing him. It's not like you and it's no use."

"Oh my god" i mumbled and closed my eyes.

"I don't have feelings for him but-" i started slightly resigned but was interrupted by Brooke nudging me in the side.

"What?" i asked but got the answer immediately when i turned my head.

The whole bunch of idiots stepped out of the cafeteria with an entourage of some girls tailing them as if they were gods. including Kylie.

I turned my gaze to Brooke who rolled her eyes.

"She thinks she has a chance at Thomas" Brooke whispered and laughed.

"Technically, she has, they haven't slept with each other," i said and felt my stomach tighten.

I followed the group with my eyes and felt the hairs on the back of my neck stand up when i met Thomas gaze. I cleared my throat and turned back to Brooke. It sure was that way, i thought, irritated by my own reaction.

"Shall we go in? We will start soon" Brooke said standing up.

"Sure" I muttered and followed her.

We walked at a reasonable distance from Thomas, Kylie and all the others in that group, it was probably just as well, i thought and dug for the mobile phone in my pocket when it rang.

Don't forget our meeting...

I shook my head, that if anything i would forget. I wasn't going to meet him. No, no and again no.
