Thomas never answered my text. Not that i expected it, i mean, why would he? still, there was an internal war going on inside me, i wanted him to answer just because. Yes, because.....i don't know.

At the same time i was glad he hadn't answered because there was nothing more to say between us, might as well get used to not talking to him. It still hurt to think that thought but that was just the way it was.

New year, it was almost a new year. It felt weird to think how fast this year had gone.

I shook my head slightly and took a deep breath. That being said, it was new year's eve and soon Brooke would be here because we were going together to a party that was by one of the squares. I knew Dylan was going to that party too, i mean, where Brooke was, there was Dylan.

Just a week ago i would have expected that where one of us was, there was everyone else. Now i knew nothing, neither Dylan or Brooke had said a word about Thomas or any of the others from the gang in the last few days. So imagine if Thomas were there. Good way to start the new year, i thought, snorting at my reflection.

The dress fit like a glove and the necklace glinted so beautifully around the neck. I had curled my hair a little and for once i had actually made an effort with the make-up. New year meant fresh start, i tried to tell myself that over and over again.

when there was a knock on the door i turned around and saw Dylan enter without meeting my eyes. Okay?

"Did you want something or?" i asked, turning to the mirror again.

"Are you getting ready?" he asked So i quickly turned to face him again.

"Yeah, why you ask?"

"Just wondering. Hey, why did you want Thomas number?"

"Why? Beacuse i needed to write him something, how so?"

"So you have talked to him?" Dylan continued, sitting down on the bed.

"No, i sent a text but he never replied" i muttered, straightening my hair before picking up a lip gloss.

"Okay" he said and i saw in the mirror how he scratched his head.

"Seriously? What's wrong with you?" i asked, meeting his gaze in the mirror.

"Nothing, but i have to tell you something. One thing about-" he began when there was another knock on the door.

"Hi" Brooke said as she came over and hugged me.

"Hey, you are so pretty" i said, glancing up and down making Brooke laugh.

"Thanks, you too, the dress is magical."

"The dresses" i corrected her with a smirk.

"I will go downstairs and wait for you guys" Dylan muttered and hurried out of the room causing both Brooke and i to raise our eyebrows questioningly.

"What's with him?" Brooke asked but i just shrugged.

"I have no idea, but i said he's crazy, haven't you got it yet?" i said teasingly and turned to the mirror again.
